IN BRIEF Trump’s NoKo Nuke Negotiations Get No Love From Dems10 Thomas Gallatin President Donald Trump is in the midst of his second summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un in Hanoi, Vietnam, as part of his ongoing effort to negotiate the denuclearization of the rogue nation and eliminate the threat it poses to the U.S. and our regional allies. Trump’s goal of a peaceful and denuclearized North Korea is a laudable one that should have the universal support of all Americans. Unfortunately, for too many Democrats it seems their Trump Derangement Syndrome11 precludes them from voicing any genuine support. Instead, the Leftmedia and Democrats are only content to offer up criticism12 of Trump, seemingly hoping that his efforts fail. Why would Democrats oppose a denuclearized North Korea? Or even more telling, why would Democrats oppose a booming economy where a record number of Americans across all socioeconomic strata are benefiting? The list could go on, but the answer is simple: hatred of Trump. Since his election, Democrats have become by their own design the anti-Trump party. Suffering in the throes of Trump Derangement Syndrome, the Democrat Party platform has become “oppose Trump on everything.” If Trump supports it, then Democrats oppose it. No longer do Democrats seek to determine their support for an issue based upon evaluating if it is good for America. Instead, their only concern is whether it benefits their party. To put it bluntly, for Democrats, party comes before country. Back to North Korea. If Trump is successful in working to bring about an ultimate end to the North Korean nuclear threat, that will be good for the U.S. and the world. So would any related success in trade negotiations with Kim’s puppet masters in Beijing13 — and make no mistake, the two are related. But this progress would also be good for Trump, so Democrats want none of it. https://patriotpost.us/articles/61447-trumps-noko-nuke-negotiations-get-no-love-from-dems Cohen: Convicted Liar on Lies14 Nate Jackson Michael Cohen, former personal lawyer for Donald Trump, has been somewhat of an Achilles heel for his old boss for some time. Trump, over the course of his career, has put his trust in some very untrustworthy people. One of them is Cohen, who lived high on the hog for many years off of his Trump fees. Ahead of the release of the much-anticipated report from Special Counsel Robert Mueller, the now-disbarred and convicted felon Cohen is testifying before Congress for three days this week, supposedly to reveal Trump’s darkest secrets. Leftmedia pundits have grabbed the popcorn and are on the edge of their seats for the “explosive” and “shocking” spectacle. According to strategically leaked prepared testimony15, Cohen will reportedly tell the House Oversight Committee today that Trump is a “racist,” “conman,” and “a cheat.” Gee, we’ve never heard that before. He is also expected to testify that Trump knew political hack Roger Stone “was talking with Julian Assange about a WikiLeaks drop of Democratic National Committee emails.” But Democrats will be disappointed with this admission: “Questions have been raised about whether I know of direct evidence that Mr. Trump or his campaign colluded with Russia. I do not. I want to be clear. But, I have my suspicions.” Oh. “Suspicions.” Cohen was also convicted of lying to Congress16, so there’s that. And most of his allegations will be unverifiable — just his word against Trump’s. Nevertheless, this time, “I am here to tell the truth.” Frankly, this is little more than yet another episode in the reality TV series that has been Trump’s presidency. He, for one, relishes in the chaos — all while he’s actually accomplishing things. And leftists are so acutely suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome11 that they obsessively chase every shiny object. That’s not to say Trump isn’t in very real legal danger, particularly on alleged campaign-finance violations17 surrounding his sordid affairs with a porn star and a Playboy model. As Mark Alexander warned18, “As his former attorney, Cohen knows where, on Trump’s behalf, he hid corporate and personal legal skeletons.” Apparently, the man who in 2017 said he would “take a bullet” for Trump is ready to bury his former friend and boss, seemingly purely out of spite. As Herman Melville’s Captain Ahab declared in Moby Dick, “To the last, I grapple with thee; from hell’s heart, I stab at thee; for hate’s sake, I spit my last breath at thee.” https://patriotpost.us/articles/61446-cohen-convicted-liar-on-lies ON OUR WEBSITE TODAY Featured Analysis: Democrats’ Vote-Buying Scheme: ‘Free Stuff’ for All19 — Free health care, housing, college, child care, jobs, and reparations. TOP HEADLINE SUMMARY “The House of Representatives passed a resolution late Tuesday afternoon that would terminate President Trump’s national emergency proclamation, which is also being challenged in court by a multistate lawsuit. The final vote of 245 to 182 fell largely along party lines, but 13 Republicans joined Democrats in supporting the measure. The bill now goes to the Republican-controlled Senate, which must vote on the measure within 18 days. Mr. Trump has vowed to veto the resolution if it reaches his desk.” (CBS News24) “President Trump shook hands and smiled with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Wednesday evening in Vietnam, opening two days of talks about Kim’s nuclear weapons program. … Trump and Kim … will have preliminary talks and a ‘social dinner.’ The total engagement will last about two hours before additional talks Thursday.” (Washington Examiner25) “On Wednesday, for the first time in a generation, the U.S. House is poised to pass new gun control legislation. … Democratic leaders say they have the votes to pass a bill requiring background checks on all commercial gun sales, including those at gun shows and over the internet. The bill also has five Republican co-sponsors, led by New York Rep. Peter King, who had tried — and failed — for several years to advance the bill while his party controlled the chamber. … Since the bill faces a steep uphill fight in the Republican-run Senate, House leadership arranged a separate vote — a day later on Thursday — on a more modest measure that may be able to attract greater bipartisan support.” (NBC News26) Title: The Patriot Post Digest 2-27-2019 Post by: nChrist on February 27, 2019, 04:47:53 PM ________________________________ The Patriot Post Digest 2-27-2019 From The Federalist Patriot Free Email Subscription (http://patriotpost.us/subscription/new) _______________________________ “The Senate on Tuesday confirmed President Trump’s nominee to be a judge on the liberal 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in a party-line vote — and, in a historic snub, the White House ignored the input of the judge’s two Democratic home-state senators in the process. The aggressive and unprecedented move to bypass the traditional ‘blue slip’ consultation process and plow ahead with the confirmation comes as the Trump administration seeks to systematically erode left-wing dominance on the key appellate court, which Trump has called ‘disgraceful’ and politically biased.” (Fox News27) “Confidence in the media has hit rock bottom, with many news consumers believing that reporters file their reports before knowing the facts and 60 percent are under the impression that sources pay for stories, according to a depressing new survey of American journalism. The Columbia Journalism Review poll also confirmed the pending death of print newspapers and magazines and a remarkable shift to social and online media as sources of news.” (Washington Examiner28) “The United Methodist Church (UMC) voted Tuesday to maintain its traditional stance against same-sex marriage and non-celibate gay clergy, bolstered by a growing conservative contingent from Africa. The plan passed, with 438 votes in favor and 384 against (53% to 47%), in the final hours of a special UMC conference held this week in St. Louis to address the issue of human sexuality. The decision leaves a sizable, vocal opposition, ensuring the exit of many progressive pastors and churches in the largest mainstream Protestant body in the US.” (Christianity Today29) Humor: Experts find leading symptom of privilege is constant griping about privilege (The Babylon Bee30) Policy: “President Trump should proceed carefully during his second meeting with Kim Jong-un, review any North Korean offer with pragmatic skepticism, and not offer any additional unilateral concessions. Capitalism creates prosperity. It’s convenient for Sanders and company to point to the Nordic countries as models of socialism when they are obviously founded on free markets, with socialistic redistribution schemes stacked atop that free market foundation. But deep down, Sanders knows that the truer reflection of socialism lies in Venezuela, Cuba and the Soviet Union. And that’s why Sanders simply can’t bring himself to disown Venezuelan socialism, even to prop up the lie that socialism wasn’t truly tried in Venezuela.” SHORT CUTS For the record: “It’s not realistic to think that people will simply stop using fertilizer, running cargo ships, building offices, or flying airplanes.
