Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. At first glance it appears as though there is some contradiction here doesn't it. Well let's see if there is. At first glance it sounds like Heb 13:8 is sayng that the gospel never changes, doesn't it. But look again, the word "gospel" is not in this passages? So where did this idea come from? Our subconscience! How did it get there? The clergy!!!! Let's look again at Heb 13:8. Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. You see, the word "gospel" doesn't appear in this passage. If it had appeared in this passage, which gospel? Many start off with a false presupposition and then build on it. Pigs don't know pigs stink! So what is this passage talking about? This passage is addressing God's attributes and showing that throughout all ages, He has been and will remain as He has always been, God. This does not negate the fact that while God is perfect, He has revealed new light to mankind down through the ages. There was a time when God required animal sacrifices. There was a time when God did not require animal sacrifices. Then there came a time when Jesus Christ Himself became the living sacrifice.
