Title: FLyLady Valentine Post by: Willowbirch on February 15, 2004, 02:45:40 PM This is an email sent to the group at flylady.net Its a little late, but I just got to it this morning, and it can be used for any day, not just February 14th!
**************** Dear Friends, Today is Valentine's Day. Some of you may be feeling sad, if you don't have a Valentine or your Valentine will not be with you. Well I want you to quit feeling sad, because you do have someone to shower attention on! YOU! Also for those of you whose husband always forgets this goes for you too. It is so easy to show others we care, but when was the last time you showed yourself that you care! Here are some simple ways to FLY and Bless all of our hearts; not just on Valentines Day! Nothing says "I love you" like a fluffy, clean bath mat. Nothing says, 'I love you,' like Undivided Attention... 86 the guilt, add peace... with a side of aahhhhh! Nothing says I love you like "clean underwear, grabbed from your dresser drawer". Nothing says I Love You like.....walking through your house in the dark and not hurting your toes on any clutter! :) Nothing says "I love you" like fresh, clean sheets and pillowcases! Nothing says "I love you" like being able to strain the spaghetti in the shiny sink anytime instead of having to try to scoop it out of the pan of hot water with a slotted spoon, assuming that a clean one is available when you need it, because the sink is piled too high with dirty dishes. Nothing says I love you like candles & fresh roses in my now clean home! A couple times each month I buy a dozen mixed colored roses from the grocery store floral dept. for $5.99 & put them in my pretty vase on the dining table. Then I pick one out to put in the crystal vase on my bathroom counter. I make sure to take time each day to smell my beautiful roses! Nothing says I love you like having the coffee pot set up so all you have to do is totter into the kitchen and hit the ON button. then walk back to your room and proceed to wake up w/ a shower and clean clothes. (and i'll admit, ive even gone back to sleep a lil while longer too.) then greet the day w/ a hot cup of coffee. I love myself by setting up the coffeepot. I love my dh by setting it up too. one of us gets up earlier than the other, and its sooooo much easier to just hit the button and not have to fumble with it all. im NOT a morning person by any means. Nothing says I love you like having plenty of tissues during cold and allergy season. Nothing says 'I Love You' like having fresh towels folded and ready to go when it's needed. Nothing says "I love you" like the floor of the car not covered in coffee cups, junk mail, overdue library books and other s.t.u.f.f.! Nothing says I love you like a dinner that doesn't come from a box, bag, or take-out container! Nothing says "I love you" like a freshly shoveled, snowless sidewalk to your home! Nothing says "I love you" like a home-cooked meal! (Even if it IS made in the crockpot!) Nothing says "I love you" like... a positive attitude. Nothing says "I love you" like being able to sit on the couch and not have to move the toys/laundry/stuff off. Nothing says I love you like paying the bills on time so there are no embarrassing phone calls from solicitors, or utilities being shut off, or cars being repossessed. Nothing says I love you like....The smell of dinner cooking to welcome you home. Nothing says I love you like....A made bed. Nothing says I love you like....A bowl of soup in bed when you're feeling sick. Nothing says I love you like....Homemade breakfast. Nothing says I love you like....A spare deodorant on the bathroom shelf. Nothing says I love you like getting up in the morning and fixing yourself up just for you! Nothing says I love you like blessing your home because you live there and for no other reason! Happy Valentine's Day! I remember that site! I used to wander through there! I forgot what I'd been missing! :D Sure makes housework sound a lot better! ;) Title: Re:FLyLady Valentine Post by: Whitehorse on February 15, 2004, 07:46:35 PM This is a really cool post, for guys and girls alike! :)

Title: Re:FLyLady Valentine Post by: Shylynne on February 17, 2004, 07:13:43 AM Nothing says I love you like...the fine art of saying I love you without words. I love it!
...and If we dont hear "I love you honey," "I love you more than the whole world," "I love you so much," "I'm so in love with you that I can't live without you," and "I love you more."...perhaps we should try listening with our hearts instead of our ears ;) Who said "I love you" to you today? If you're thinking, "No one," think again. There are a million ways to tell someone you love them -- and for lots of them, you don't even have to talk!
