That would take about a week, and you would get a different opinion from each person you asked.

VERY GENERALLY:

Democrats are for big government, big social spending, and being more liberal.

Republicans are for smaller government, smaller social spending, and being more conservative.

However, the distinctions between the two parties have been blurred recently, and I think that's why we're in the mess we're in - Both Parties responsible.

Another general way to describe both parties is that they both have liberals, moderates, and conservatives. The Republicans are more known for the right end of the scale - middle and right - moderate and conservative. The Democrats are more known for the left end of the scale - middle and left - moderate and liberal. There's a great and huge list of things that are generally associated with each category, so there would be 3 categories for Democrats and 3 categories for Republicans. As an example, there could be a considerable difference between a conservative Democrat and a conservative Republican.

This is a broad view because I don't have time to write a book, so I hope that it helps you some. By the way, I'm a conservative Republican, and I haven't been very happy with the Republicans over the last years. They spent like drunken sailors, just like the Democrats. Somebody has to pay the bills, and that's us.

Love In Christ,
Tom

You're most welcome. Can I assume that you're trying to make some sense of this crazy recent election?
