I"m not sure I"m posting this in the right place, but I"ve been thinking about the phrase "God bless America" that so many politicians use. Can God bless America? I don"t think so,  how much blame do we have for the  sorry shape this country is in? In the sixties we let Madelyn Murry O"Hare{one woman!!} take prayer out of schools, look at the shape they"re in now, a decade later it was Roe V Wade decided by Supreme Court Justices picked by presidents we elected, and since then millions of innocents are slaughtered before they see the light of day,  if Abel"s blood cried out to God from the ground how much more the blood of all these children? What did Jesus say? it would be better for you to have a millstone hung around your neck and be dropped into the sea than offend one of these little ones, I believe he was talking about new christians and children. Many bemoan the fact we have a liberal muslim President. But many christians also voted for him.We as a nation have sown the whirlwind and are now reaping what we sowed. Can God protect us?  No. We have clearly abandoned Israel, remember Katrina? we had  a part in the dismantleling of Israeli settlements months earlier as Jews were forced from their homes by the military so was our coastal residents forced from their homes by Katrina. This year Obama promised East Jerusalem to the Palistineans, it"s not his to give , what has his heavy handed preassure got us? A oil well disaster? Maybe it"s just a coincidense, I don"t know, I do know that God has promised a curse on anyone who attemps to divide His land.So maybe since 9-11 God has been slowly removing His hand of protection? He can"t bless us when we are walking in such open rebellion , if we don"t repent and turn from our wicked ways and humble ourselves before Him this nation is lost and will be destroyed, if we repent He promises to heal our land. Everyone pray for repentance before it is to late!

Your post speaks volumes. I would say that America no longer deserves God's Blessing, and Christians are at least partly to blame. Some of the other slogans are also no longer true - One Nation Under God. I'm old enough to remember the times when these slogans felt right. I'm not hinting that we were anywhere close to where we needed to be in our relationship with God, but God was given more than just lip service.

YES, we have watched the rapid deterioration of morals and just about everything else in our country. It didn't take long for the devil to get a foothold and make a horrible mess of what once was. It's certain that Christians didn't fight the evil hard enough, and this was the time of the famous silent majority. Many thought they wouldn't be effected by what was going on, and it was always the problem of some other place - then it was the problem in our place.

I personally think that we're watching a time when the Tribulation Period is about to be ushered in. If you look at the signs around the world, they look much like descriptions in the Bible. What the Bible said would happen is happening. Israel is the center stage, and it's supposed to be the center stage. Much of the world is turning against Israel, including our own country. There are many things that I didn't believe I would live long enough to see, but I'm seeing them. Bluntly, it appears that the world is on the edge of the pit in anxious anticipation of jumping in. I must add that the edge of that pit is already pretty low, and the world is like a runaway train going downhill. Man is making a horrible mess, and a huge influence appears to be evil - just as the Bible says it will be. We can already see the beginnings of global this and global that - just as the Bible foretells. The Middle East is on the verge of a major war - possibly the war spoke of in Ezekiel. The players are in place - doing what they are supposed to do (i.e. Turkey, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Russia, etc.). I don't think that all of these things are coincidence, especially considering the ripening of many other signs around the world. God will usher in the Tribulation Period at His Appointed time, and I think that time is near. As Christians, our part is to pray and yield to the Will of God each day until Christ comes to take us home to glory.

Is America past the point of no return? - I don't know. I am beginning to think that our concentration should be prayer for the Body of Christ - that God gives us strength - that God guides us - that collectively we do what God wants us to do in these possible end days of this Age of Grace. We should also know that persecution of Christians is getting worse around the world - including our own part of the world. The Body of Christ is badly in need of our prayers. Please - I didn't say this to disagree with you. I would love to see America turn back to God and be restored to One Nation Under God - but sadly, too many things appear to be going in the wrong direction.

If the last days of this Age of Grace are NOW, things are not going to get better - rather much worse. I, for one, will still pray for our country and our leaders, but my main attention in prayer is for the Household of Faith - the Body of Christ. May God lead and guide us.

Please don"t ever worry about  disagreeing with me as long as it"s not personal attacks I"m fine, sadly I think you"re probably right, it"s too late.I have the conviction that time is running out, worry over unsaved loved ones, and like you I don"t believe the Bride of Christ is appointed to the wrath of God, we do need to pray for the lost too. Be blessed.

Hello sigourney, I just posted on my blog about Apostasy in America, June 10.

The people of America are paying a high price for their sins and their sins are legion. The Lord, will not be mocked. No government exists and no individual rules, except what He allows.

Isaiah 59: 6-8 "Their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands. Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.”

History, both secular and Biblical, is replete with examples of recalcitrant sin laden peoples being inflicted by the Lord with leaders who have decimated and destroyed the masses that they deceivingly purported to represent for good and just reasons. Some of these were black of heart and viciously disposed and others were simply bumbling idiots, either way they led their nations and those who populated them to destruction and ruin.

That this nation is laden by sin and of a corruptness of heart is incontrovertible, the mortals that populate it have descended into depravity, deep sexual deviancy, soul-destroying avarice and bestiality of thought. They revel in their wickedness’s and flaunt them before the world. They splatter the airwaves and cyber space with immorality and deviancy. They pipe it into the homes domestically and export it to foreign shores. Only the ignorantly obtuse and the mentally feeble fail to understand the pitiably deficient state of the collective morals of this people and this society, if they are not abject doers of evil they are upholders and enablers of evil. They are as rotten fruit and about to be plucked and eliminated as the affront they are to a righteous and holy God.

There are no secular solutions for a spiritual disease. The bums will not be thrown out they are where they are for a reason, and if they should drop by the wayside they will simply be replaced with those who are equally perverse. All too often I have hear others say that the Lord helps those who help themselves, this is absolutely a lie. The truth is that the Lord delivers those who do His bidding and who rely on Him in all things.

Jeremiah 17:5 “Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.”

A righteous and virtuous people can expect righteous government and virtuous leaders; an unwholesome and iniquitous people can expect the same unwholesomeness from those who rule over them. The last three government administrations amplify that fact. The unholy trio, Clinton, Bush, and Obama have brought this nation and its people to a precipice overlooking an abyss, all were, during their tenure, liars and deceivers and upholders of vice and personal corruption. They have piped a Godless recalcitrant people down a crooked road to an imminent demise.

Obama’s decline has been rapid and percipient, probably the only thing that has saved him from a more drastic fall in public esteem is an ever worshipful propagandist media and Republicans who, true to form, in their Herculean bent to appease socialist liberals haven’t the statesmanship, the intelligence, or the courage to stand on principle and oppose his Marxist policies.

An adoring liberal-socialist media and the mindless believers in Obama as savior have made much of his alleged brilliance, he is in fact possessed of an entirely normal intellect and is neither brilliant nor possessed of a mentally superior adeptness. He is entirely one-dimensional and incapable of thinking in abstract terms.

His guiding light is his spouse who is what Jezebel was to Ahab, a not unintelligent evil spirit behind the throne. Michelle’s undisguised hatred of America and of the Caucasian race guides her thinking and that of her husband. There can be no doubt that she was the guiding light responsible for her mate’s Marxist political appointees.

Some speculate that Obama is "the" antichrist I don’t believe it. There are several requirements, which Mr. Obama doesn't fit. He hasn’t the cleverness, guile, or the complexity and quickness of mind of an antichrist. One other requirement, is of Roman descent. However, being of Roman descent does not automatically mean that the Antichrist will be Italian. Daniel 11 speaks of Antiochus Epiphanes, a Gentile, who typifies the future Antichrist.

Daniel 9:26-27 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
(And yes this happens during the great tribulation. DW)

Daniel 9:27 where the one cutting a covenant with Israel to me, represent the revived Roman Empire, since it was the Romans who destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 A.D.

Although I do believe Mr. Obama is "a" antichrist. He has surrounded himself with those who do and they are, thanks to his guided appointments and the weakness of his political opponents in heading off those appointments, in critical positions at every level of government where they are systematically and incrementally installing a totalitarian Fascist/Marxist system in once was a Constitutional Republic.

If Mr. Obama were to read this, he would be greatly offended. Not by my allegations of his political intent, and Marxist leanings, because he is very transparent in that regard and unashamed of his political bent, but my questioning of his alleged brilliance and his mental adeptness would irritate him immensely, in point of fact it would absolutely infuriate him as he is a complete and perfect Narcissist, a true lover of himself.

America will fall, but there is still hope for the people of America.............
