by Staff June 8, 2010 TELLICO PLAINS, Tenn., (christiansunite.com) -- On June 1, 2010 at 10:30 am Scott Morgan was released after spending 26 days incarcerated in jail after overpaying his child support. Family, friends and members of the church where Mr. Morgan attends were present during the court hearing. The hearing began at 10:15 am with Judge J. Michael Sharp announcing that he had read all Mr. Morgan's filings. With his son beside him, Mr. Morgan began by reading from a motion that he had filed to the court explaining that attorney Alliman's motion to the court lacked foundation and his former counsel Matthew Rodgers was ineffective as counsel by misrepresenting his wishes. Mr. Morgan continued by pointing out the intentional errors that attorney Alliman had entered into the court records, deceiving the court citing documents and court records of that evidence. Judge Sharp acknowledged receiving those documents, records and evidence. Evidence, which clearly showed Mr. Morgan to have overpaid in his child support. With just his client and his client's mother, ACLU affiliate Attorney Peter Alliman responded by asking Judge Sharp to honor the appeals court decision and enforce the judgment even thought evidence presented to the court by Mr. Morgan clearly contradicted the appeals court decision. Judge Sharp announced he was going to enforce the appeals court decision. Mr. Morgan reminded Judge Sharp where he had ruled unfairly and wrongly against him in a past case defrauding him out of thousands of dollars of labor and materials. The subject matter was quickly changed. Judge Sharp responded by stating he would be releasing Mr. Morgan, however he would have to pay $16,194.46 in the next 30 days or his property would be sold. "The judge released me with the threat that if I do not pay, he will sell my property. He only released me to allow me to get the money I don't owe," states Mr. Morgan. Public officials in Tennessee have had a consistent history of attacking Faith Based Christians especially in Monroe County, Tennessee, the same county where a Christian missionary was abducted and tortured for his faith. Every American Citizen is endowed with an inherent right and responsibility to hold public officials accountable. Title: Re: Dad is Freed from Jail Post by: Soldier4Christ on June 08, 2010, 10:19:36 PM The charge was that he didn't pay his child support but they jailed him even though he proved that he had paid more than what he owed. There are other charges of misconduct and fraud against the public officials that did this.
Title: Re: Dad is Freed from Jail Post by: nChrist on June 08, 2010, 11:35:28 PM I would hope there are actions pending against these so-called public officials. False imprisonment and discrimination under color of law can be pretty serious. These so-called public-officials need to be removed from public office forever, forced to pay restitution, forced to pay punitive damages, and jailed under a variety of criminal charges. News coverage like this should help get the ball rolling, and others who have suffered like abuse and corrupt actions should also be made whole.
Title: Re: Dad is Freed from Jail Post by: Soldier4Christ on June 08, 2010, 11:44:04 PM There are other charges against these same officials in regards to another Christian man that was kidnapped and beaten. I don't know any of the details other than that.

I don't know any of the details other than that. I'll just say that cases like this make me angry. All avenues for the most extreme penalties need to be exhausted - including mega-bucks paid by their employers. Bluntly, this is a pack of rats that need to be trapped and caged. The agencies involved need to be harshly taught a lesson so things like this won't happen again. Title: Re: Dad is Freed from Jail Post by: Shammu on June 09, 2010, 05:05:37 PM Yup, just as I thought, the A.C.L.U. In case y'all have forgotten, that is the Anti Christs Law Union. One day, they will be sorry for imposing their will on the people. |
