Title: PERSECUTION UPDATE Post by: creationist on February 04, 2004, 12:54:40 AM North Korea / China:
Many Christians are imprisoned in North Korea as political prisoners because N.K. leader Kim Jong-il considers Christianity one of the greatest threats to his power. New evidence shows that on top of being starved and tortured, people are also being gassed to death in N.K. prison camps, while scientists watch and take notes. Both refugees who are fleeing North Korea, as well as the aid workers seeking to help them, are being betrayed by the Chinese government. Facing food shortages and depravations caused by North Korea's collapsed economy, North Koreans have been escaping across the border and seeking refuge in China. According to a 1995 agreement, China is supposed to allow aid workers from the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to go to the border and assist fleeing refugees. However, the UNHCR office in Beijing has been told not to travel to the border areas, and the UNHCR has not stood up and insisted that the Chinese government abide by their 1995 agreement. Independent aid workers, many of them Christians, have been working to assist the refugees. However, the Chinese government has imprisoned several of these aid workers in recent months and has offered bounties to informers. China has been intercepting the refugees and has been sending them back to North Korea, where many are imprisoned in death labor camps if they admit to having had contact with Christians while in China. Eritrea: Since May of 2002, Eritrean Protestants have faced fierce persecution. Their churches have been closed and any found worshiping in house churches, possessing Bibles, or spreading the Gospel have been beaten and arrested. Now, neighbors are being hired to act as spies and to report any gathering of evangelicals. Those who act as informers are given special treatment and allowances of luxuries like sugar and flour. Laos: Christians in Laos' Attapue province have been told that if they do not renounce their faith in Christ, they will be killed. Non-Christians have threatened to beat believers to death with farm tools. Two local leaders have led the attack on Christians and on January 18th started having pits dug to bury those believers who refused to renounce Christ. India: Churches in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh states of India have been attacked by radical Hindus lately, and Christians have been dragged from their homes and beaten. Several churches have been burned, and these Hindus have cut the telephone lines to prevent the incidents from being reported. In some cases, the Hindus are blaming Christians for the violence and are spreading lies to incite more violence. A few nominal Christians have been retaliating, and causing more confusion and disruption. However, a large number of Christians are hiding out or are escaping the area. Some good news: Gospel for Asia (GFA) has had success in starting primary schools that reach out to the lowest-caste Dalits in several communities in India. The majority of Dalits do not have the opportunity to receive an education, especially not an English education, which is considered reserved for the high-caste wealthy. Over the past few years GFA has opened hundreds of schools, which have become a blessing to Dalit families in many communities and have opened the doors for these people to hear the Gospel. Please continue to pray for the persecuted members of the Church around the world - for strength and peace and provision, and for the power of God's presence as they continue to preach the Gospel to those around them. I bet those roman catholics are doing this. <:)))>< Title: Re:PERSECUTION UPDATE Post by: sincereheart on February 04, 2004, 07:38:35 AM Quote Since last May, the Eritrean government has revoked official status for all religious groups in the country except the four recognized religions: Orthodox Christian, Muslim, Catholic and Evangelical Lutheran. :-X http://www.worthynews.com/christian-persecution/features/eritrean-prayer-meeting.html (http://www.worthynews.com/christian-persecution/features/eritrean-prayer-meeting.html) Title: Re:PERSECUTION UPDATE Post by: creationist on February 04, 2004, 02:19:03 PM Thanx sincereheart.

It's all reminiscent of Nazi Germany.

The gays calling in, saying they've been living with their partner for ten years, or fifteen years, and they don't see what right others have to withhold from them the rights of the married... The tone is sounding impish, whiny, resentful--like little babies who once you give them what they want, then all of a sudden are telling you what to do. And that's what you have in the persecution situations--whiny little babies who just happen to be in charge. So they are unforgiving, and unmerciful. And so gradually that's what we see happening right before us here. The whiny little babies with their incessant homosexuality are shortly going to be telling us all what to do. It won't be very forgiving. Or merciful. Because you're dealing with spoiled, whiney little babies. Who will go to the ends of the earth, to have their own whiney, little selfish way. And they won't forgive you. It's not in the program. Title: Re:PERSECUTION UPDATE Post by: creationist on February 06, 2004, 12:57:24 AM This is the comment I got on a Greek Orthodox forum that I posted these persecution news stories on.
Heresies must be stamped out and the (true) Christian Church has been doing so for centuries, so why should my attitude towards persecuted heretics, who blaspheme the teachings of the One True Faith, be sympathetic? Don't some people make you sick? BTW. This was the only person that replied. The others simply ignored the topic and continued posting stuff about fasting and Saints days. Title: Re:PERSECUTION UPDATE Post by: The Crusader on February 06, 2004, 03:59:55 AM Thanks brothers and sisters, all good information.
