Yeah, it is a shame, all these kids trying to mimic Harry Potter. There is an Elementary school near my Uni, and they have been flying their broom right into our lecture halls windows! All that evil magic. Flying like a bird, only with a broom between there legs. There mother flying in to pick them up. Yeah. Those kids sure love to imitate Harry Potter. They also killed our Mascot, a giant Snake!!! With just a sword and a magic wand!!! They imitate Harry Potter all the time, it is shameful.  :-\ :-\ Because, after all, Harry Potter is SO imitatable. ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) More so then, say, Anything C.S. Lewis wrote.

Myself I think C. S. Lewis, was not a Christian when he wrote most of his trash.

Tibby you must be young, maybe 17 or 18. You need to be more grounded in the word of God.

This whole topic is based on opinion. I don't agree with Crusader or A4C, nor do I think I ever will, because I've heard every argument and none of them convince me it's wrong. I'll take a guess and say that neither of you have read so much as a word J. K. Rowling has written, so your argument is based on nothing more than what you've heard from other anti-Potter sources. So I have this to say: Shut up about it. You sure don't have to read it, but don't judge those who do and say that they're sinning, because you have no foundation for anything like that.

Maybe if the Church would put out something other then this poorly written, dime store “Left Behind” dribble we have now, the kids would read Christian books. ;) Mr. Lahey hasn't gotten school childern to put their X-Box down so they can read, Mrs. Rowlings has. Give then kids a good Christian alterative, THEN, we will talk.

Ok, ok, so I broke down and clicked on the link. It was good for a laugh. Really, it looks like it was written by some self-righteous Christian who wants a little attention. I mean, making a whole video on why Harry Potter is evil? What a waste of plastic, time, effort, and life.

The Harry Potter movie was made for one reason Making Evil Look Innocent, And you think thats good. ;D

If you mean me thinking that a harmless, "evil" fantasy story is a good distraction from the truly evil things in the world, then yes, I do think that's good.

Yes, I’d rather see Sapph reading a book that you say is evil, even thought you can't show any proof that is it, then shooting up. Or any kid of that matter.

Jack Chick's mediocre apologetics have been refuted enough, the man's known propensity for employing liars is hardly a recommendation of his comics and books. Which I've read, incidentally. They're good for a laugh.

If you're going to say something as obscure as that, please have the decency to at least explain.

So? Sapphs post still stands. I have looked around, and I haven't seen Harry Potter doing any harm. I've seen some bad things, but these things where around before Harry Potter was even thought.

I've heard about Harry Potter: Witchcraft Repackaged but I prefer to get my information from actually reading the books, not taking someone elses word for it or buying into the hype. The books don't promote any witchcraft and whoever says so is basically lying. The books refer to magic as something you get from a wand and by mumbling Latin words, which just doesn't relate to real witchcraft or the religion of Wicca which uses witchcraft. Sorry, even if you get obsessed you won't be able to fly on a broom, visit Hogsmeade, make things fly by yelling "Wingardium Leviosa!" or anything else mentioned in the books. There is no connection to spiritual witchcraft, devil worship, etc mentioned. I think whoever put out the movie just wanted to ride on the coattails of the Harry Potter success.

I think it is just silly words with "us" and "i" and "uim" at the end to make them sound latin.
