Title: God's will???
Post by: countrycat on January 27, 2004, 07:55:01 AM
I am trying hard to know God's will, when it comes to moving!
Right now there is no way I could quit my job, and stay home to do my artwork, that which I believe God gifted me with. Jim says if we move to N.C. or Tn. or maybe Ky., we could live more economicly, and perhaps pay cash for a small home. We would, or should, have enough from the sale of our house here, in southeast Florida, to buy a home or mobile home a bit farther north. I really do love Florida, but, our east coast is becoming a traffic nightmare! It is also becoming one "condo kingdom" after another! I long for nature, that which GOD created...NOT man! I long for the peace of quiet evenings, with the songs of pond frogs and crickets drifting through the cool , damp air! I am tired of concrete and traffic!
So, I ask for your prayers, that I may truly know His will!

Thanks,
Cathe

Oh, what a wonderful earthly dream, to live in the arms of wilderness that glorifies God in its natural state!

We have a little house on the outskirts of town, that was basically "country" a few years ago, but is steadily being built up around us. (Funny - folks say they want a place in the middle of nowhere, without any houses, and the first thing they do is build a house!!! LOL)

We have several neighbors, two of which have backyard ponds, and we can hear frogs most of the year, especially in spring. There's deer and rabbits and blue herons and such, even in this populated place. A few years back we even had a whippoorwill - it was neat at first...then it went on...

and on...

and on...

The whippoorwill is such a tiny, scruffy little bird, but it sure can yell!

Praying for God's will in your life, Cathe. His ways aren't ours, and He doesn't often answer prayer exactly the way we think He should. Rest in His love; get some potted herbs or flowers. They were a great blessing to my mother when we had to move to strange places.

When I was a university student the big question on campus was "What am I going to be? What will I major in? How should I prepare?" At the Christian college where I taught one year, Christian students agonized over that question. My position is this: If you have repented and have received Jesus as Savior and Lord, receiving instantly the baptism of the Holy Spirit; if you have followed him in Believer's water baptism to publicly proclaim what has already happened to you inwardly; and if you are growing in knowledge and wisdom and strength, and if you are telling others about our wonderful Savior, then you are smack in the middle of God's will! So why ask questions like, "What is God's will...." in this or that situation? You're IN it. That being the case, you won't be asking questions about the nature of God's will! NOW, step out in faith believing that you are in the center of His will!

We know from scripture that God causes all things to work together for good, to those who love Him, and who are the called, according to His purpose. His purpose is for you to walk in His will, as described in my #1 thru #4. If any one of those steps is missing, then you aren't in His divine will. One would have to do a checklist of one's committment to God. Once you establish that you are in fact walking in accordance with #1 thru #4, you can make your decision to move or do whatever without agonizing over the decision. God will be IN your decision. http://donmar.org/sir.htm .  ;) Don

I have just been very "down" lately. My heart and spirit tells me that my gifts from the LOrd are not being used the way He would like them to be. My decision is to quit my job and work with my gifts, BUT, at this point finances will not permit this. The idea of moving came during prayer...I will post more on this in another topic.
Thanks,
Cathe

Thank you all so much!
It seems I tend to try to carry the weight of the world on  my shoulders! I "forget" WHO is always waiting to take my burdens! I drop down into a pit of fear and dispair , in shadows of uncertainty...when all I need do is focus my eyes on Him, and He will light my way!
I must give Him my worries and fears, and I thank you for reminding me!
