Title: MMMMMWA! :D
Post by: Whitehorse on January 14, 2004, 10:59:23 PM
Valentine's Day reading for men and women:

Charity and its Fruits by Jonathan Edwards.

Beautifully written. I'm studying it right now, and it is very sweet reading. It ends with a chapter on the Beauty of heaven.

Um.  Could you give us a little more of a sales pitch than that, Whitehorse.

Maybe some selections from it?

Like, um, what does the subject heading here mean.  Um, MMMMMMWA! ??   Is that Whitehorse um, weeping... :-[

It's a KISS, Symphony. A big, loud, wet one. (If its from a toddler, there's probably some peanut butter in it, too.)

That's right! And if it's a kiss from my nephew, he will let you see the contents of his mouth beforehand! Last time it was chocolate, I believe. ;D

More salespitch? Sure!

Lecture One: All true grace in the heart summed up as charity, or love

Lecture Two: Charity, or love, more excellent thatn the extraordinary gifts of the Spirit

Lecture Three: All that can be done or suffered in vain without charity, or love

Lecture Four: Charity meek in bearing evil and injuries

Lecture Five: Charity cheerful and free in doing good

Lecture Six: The spirit of charity the opposite of an envious spirit

Lecture Seven: The spirit of charity an humble spirit

Lecture Eight: The spirit of charity the opposite of a selfish spirit

Lecture Nine: The spirit of charity the opposite of an angry or wrathful spirit

Lecture Ten: The spirit of charity the opposite of a censorious spirit

Lecture Eleven: All true grace in the heart tends to holy practice in the life

Lecture Twelve: Charity willing to undergo all suffering for Christ

Lecture Thirteen: All the Christian graces connected and mutually dependent

Lecture Fourteen: Charity, or true grace, not to be overthrown by opposition

Lecture Fifteen: The Holy Spirit for ever to be communicated to the saints, in charity, or love

Lecture Sixteen: Heaven, a world of charity or love

Now, that obviously leaves me with a lot of work to do, and it is very sweet reading. :)
