Title: Humanist Groups out to Ban Christmas and God from the Public Square Again Post by: nChrist on November 18, 2008, 11:19:00 AM Humanist Groups out to Ban Christmas and God from the Public Square Again This Year
by Staff November 18, 2008 WASHINGTON, (christiansunite.com) -- A number of humanist and atheist groups are beginning their annual campaign to ban Christmas and God from the public square and they will fail as they always do. The American Humanist Association (AHA) has now introduced an advertising effort which has an elitist contempt for Americans believing in God. The lead motto for its campaign this year is "Why believe in a god? Just be good for goodness sake." The President of the Christian Coalition of America, Roberta Combs said: "Although a number of humanists and atheists continue to attempt to rid God and Christmas from the public square, the American people are overwhelmingly opposed to such efforts. Indeed, NBC published a recent poll asking whether 'In God We Trust' should continue to be our nation's motto and God should be kept in the Pledge of Allegiance and 86% of Americans said Yes! We will ask our millions of supporters to call the city of Washington, DC and Congress to stop this un-Godly campaign." Humanist and atheist groups every year attempt to remove Christmas manger displays from public areas and any mention of Christ's birth from public schools. The AHA actually is displaying an advertisement on buses in the city of Washington D.C. with their atheistic campaign motto, "Why believe in a god?...." This effort will indeed fail as have all their other such efforts in a nation which overwhelmingly believes in God. Christian Coalition of America played a major part a few years ago with its tremendous grassroots effort and with thousands of volunteers and caused major retail outlets to put the word Christmas back in the sale of Christmas trees and in Christmas displays. http://news.christiansunite.com/Religion_News/religion07803.shtml Additional information on ChristiansUnite.com is available on the Internet at http://www.christiansunite.com/ Copyright © 2007 ChristiansUnite.com.
