I finally watched the new DVD for rental called Sea Biscuit.
It was such a beautifully inspirational movie.

I saw the film. too. It was very nice; I liked the metaphors. And of course, Seabiscuit.

I haven't seen it and I don't like horse movies but if it's something the whole family can watch, I'll survive... :-X

Yes, it is a good family flick. And hte first horse movie I haven't fallen asleep too.

*sigh* I s'pose I'll have to break down and rent a horse movie.  :'(

Amen to that.  I never liked horse movies either.  Since I grew up on a ranch, we always spelled work; h-o-r-s-e.  But there are some animal movies I am particular to.  Especially those two with the REAL happy endings; in one the family ended up eating venison for supper, and the other where the family cat lived happily ever after?  You know the two I mean – “The Yearling” and “Ol’ Yeller”?  Now those were animal movies!  :D

FYI - to keep with the subject of the thread (so I don’t make anyone’s head explode) - I did “See the Biscuit” – and in all honesty it wasn’t too bad, but I thought it ended too soon, (NO!  I don’t mean it was too short!), but then again, maybe I wasn’t tuned in to the ‘chick-flick’ aspect of the whole thing.  ::)

I was going to rent it but when my sister saw it she took one look at the name and laughed.  I didn't think that I would like it because it's a race horse.  But if you guys say it is good maybe then I can talk them into watching it.

ROFL! Actually, I LOVE horses! And I don't mind the w-o-r-k! ;) It's just the movies that bother me! Or maybe it was just 'Black Beauty'.... :-X It was too intense! Or maybe it was 'National Velvet' - it was too.... WAIT! It just may be because I've watched entirely too many horse movies!  ;D

Yep, when you have a family, you just can't afford any wrong turns, if you can avoid it.  It isn't easy.  It isn't easy at all.  Even in the BEST of all possible worlds, it's still precarious.

That's why we have marriage between a man and a woman(duh......)--it's for the simple sake of the children.  They copy everything we say and do--and it's immediate and invisible.
