sorry never viewed putting your church website up as advertising...was thinking advertising as selling something.  Do i need to remove the link in the post as well asking for advice on the website?

The link to the church web site is alright because there is nothing there for sale and no donations are requested. The problem was with the one that you had in your avatar as that was to one that provides services for sale.

oh yeah that one was a mess up...i was trying to get a pic up for my avatar, unfortunately did not work and since it was connected to my 50 webs account guess their avatar overrode it.  I searched and searched for that pic to use as my avatar...why is there no way to add a avatar by uploading a pic from my comp..?

The forum software does not have that capability. You must have a URL. We recommend using a photo web site similar to photobucket to upload your pics to and then using the url they assign to it.

Hello itsmeagaingod,

WELCOME!

I sincerely hope that you enjoy Christians Unite, and I look forward to having fellowship with you. I just came from your church web site and think it is very pretty. I don't comment on individual denominations since we have many denominations here.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Favorite Bible Quotes 267 - John 4:9-14 Then saith the woman of
Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of
me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with
the Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest
the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink;
thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living
water. 11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw
with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living
water? 12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the
well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? 13
Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water
shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I
shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him
shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Thank you for looking at and commenting on my site bep.  I in no way expected a comment on the denomination...we are a southern baptist church and before I have gone to mostly full gospel church's.  But this is a very small church maybe 50 on Sunday tops and I really like that small country feel.  I have wanted to do this for awhile for the church and I hope they embrace the idea and the site grows...still alot to do, add pictures etc...  Thanks again for commenting, have a great day, and god bless.

Hello itsmeagaingod,

I hope you know that I didn't mean anything critical. If it's a small country church, I understand those the best. My dad was in the ministry for 60 years, and he was a circuit preacher when he was young and strong. We were in a different church every night for the first 8 years of my life. There were and still are many country churches without a pastor. My dad preached in 38 different rural communities for years before building a small church in our current city. The name over the door didn't really mean much in those small country churches. This is just one reason why the name of the church built was an address.

Labels and tags are very confusing to people these days, and they usually mean something different to each person. If I were to pick a name with Biblical significance, I would probably choose something like "Grace Bible Church". The core is GOD'S Grace and LOVE, GOD'S WORD, and the GOOD NEWS. The Bible is studied during every meeting, and the Bible is taught to various maturity levels - including children. We are living during a time when men's labels and tags cause considerable confusion. I firmly believe that ESPECIALLY SALVATION is easy enough for children to understand, and GOD meant it that way.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Favorite Bible Quotes 99 - 2 Timothy 4:16-18 At my first answer no man
stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be
laid to their charge. 17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and
strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and
that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth
of the lion. 18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work,
and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for
ever and ever. Amen.

Oh absolutely I did not think anything you was saying was critical...I just wanted observations about the general website as a church website.  Alot of the church websites I look at seem to be very business like, I think maybe alot are using premade templates and that's fine.  What i was trying to figure out is first if the website was appealing...to all age groups.  And second should a church website look business like or reflect the spirit of the church, and if it should respect the spirit of the church was the website i created to over the top?  I wanted to reflect a site that was
fun, inviting, and non judgemental...just a good ole down to earth, welcome, and your all invited anytime kinda website...know what i mean?  Absolutely no offense taken I understand your position and respect that.
