Title: So Ya Wanna Your Prayers To Be Heard, Eh? Post by: MangoMan on August 06, 2008, 12:51:53 PM It amazes me that the divorce rate in the Baptist realm is over 50%. Could it be neither the woman involved or the man really listen to each other, respect each other, care for each other physically, emotionally, or spiritually, love each other as Christ commanded us?
I am aware that the man bears the responsibility here, but it is a two way relationship. I'm not going to get into the roles of the marriage couple here. My point initially was about ya prayers being heard. I think if men heeded the words of the Lord in 1 Peter 3:7, the divorce rate just might fall off significantly. It at least goes to show that the Lord expects a lot out of the man, and lays a lot of responsibility on him. Sincerely, MangoMan I have decided to run in '08 on the platform of "FREE Mangos for Everyone!". I might be green on the outside, but I've a soft heart on the inside. It appears that the divorce rate for all Christians now is just about the same as for the lost. I think this topic has the potential to be great for all of us. I would ask two simple questions that definitely apply to your first post in this thread: 1 - Is CHRIST the head of our homes? 2 - Is the Will of GOD important in our prayers? I look forward to this thread and hope that we all learn from it. Love In Christ, Tom Christian Quotes 195 - Habitually to realize How it would soothe in trouble, nerve for duty, make difficulties easy and crosses light, elevate above the fretting anxieties of life and lead to calm unmurmuring submission, were we able habitually to realize, in all its fullness, the assurance, "God is my Father, and I am His child." -- John MacDuff 1895 |
