            A torch is only any use
            With batteries included
            And then we have to turn it on
            Or we will be deluded
            For if we try in our own strength
            To see the way ahead
            The darkness will envelop us
            And change our route instead.

            The Holy Spirit is our source
            Of wisdom, power and might
            His constant charge will never fail
            To keep us in the light
            He is the battery of our torch
            Without Him we are dead
            So tap into His power each day
            Illuminate our tread.
