Title: Heresies, ignorance, and error
Post by: aw on December 27, 2003, 11:30:47 AM
We can expect to see more and more apostasy in these final days. (1 John 4:1-3; Phil 3:18; 2 Peter 2:1)

However, we need to make sure that we distinguish between the following which are not apostasy: 1. a fellow believer may be in error about any given doctrinal issue which may be simply the result of ignorance (Acts 19:1-6), and/or 2. HERSESY which may be caused by the snare of satan (2 Tim 2:25,26)

A reue believer could have one or both of these conditions and still be a true brother/sister.

May the Lord grant us the discernment to know the difference,

aw

2 Tim 2
22  Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
23  But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
24  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25  In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

Yes, discernment to know who is and who is not of God, but notice that Christians are called to not be unequally yoked with unbelievers.

Which brings up the question, should Christians associate with those who says he believes, but really does not believe Christs Words , are not Jesus words, Words put in His mouth by God himself??,  Are Christians (no matter how ignorant)really able to reject Jesus Words??, it is clear children who are born into a family can be deceived, and even they will willingly reject their Fathers Word, but one who has been adopted into the same family, can he, or rather will he reject his Fathers Words, and deny Him??   If he understands what he has been adopted from, it is doubtful..because he knows the truth.

Gal 1
8  But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9  As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

It is all in the words which spoken....which reveal the heart of a believer from an unbeliever, And unbelievers are the ones snared...

2 Cor 6
14  Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15  And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16  And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
18  And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

2 Cor 11
11:1  Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.
2  For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
3  But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4  For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
5  For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles.
6  But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been thoroughly made manifest among you in all things.
7  Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely?
8  I robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service.
9  And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself.
10  As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia.
11  Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.
12  But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.
13  For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15  Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

But thank you, for a word.

having spent a number of years 'watching' what is going on within various denominations i cant help but wonder if we are already not teaching heretical teachings in today's church.?

we have seen the infiltration and deception that is going on for the past twelve years and each year that goes by, it gets worse and more and more bolder.
