I loved the above television shows because they presented a kinder generation of Americans who loved God, their country, and each other!  Today we are encouraged to emulate Donald Trump, Paris Hilton, Martha Stewart, Oprah and Barack Obama, and prosperity preachers like Benny Hinn and Kenneth Copeland!  But I like Chuck Norris who seeks to support American soldiers in Iraq, rescue young adults from criminal gangs, drugs, and alcohol, and preaches the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost!

I fully agree with you.  Although years back I lived in N. Ireland I found and all of my family that ime were glued to The Waltons.  I then watched the repeats and thoroughly enjoyed them.  I am very selective with repeats and in general with all TV progs.  In Britain Mary Whitehouse spoke out a lot about bad land, sex and violence.  There does I suppose need to be in drama a true reflection of real life.  To show real life and be really truthfull we have I suppose to allow a certain amount of all 3 nasties.  It's debatable I suppose but it seems the only way.  A health warning after all dramas is essential stating that the drama was as true to life as the writer believes but for viewers to beware.  All this bad lang., sex and violence is to be avoided at all costs.  Live your life as morally correct as you can.  Maye a warning like that would help, what do you think?    ::)

I grew up watching Little House on the Prairie, and I watch it even as an adult. Its such a good show. I loved how they always said "The Lord will provide". I tell myself that now to remind myself that yes, He will. Very encouraging shows, all of them. They all had a lot of good lessons for children in them.

I also remember these shows as being clean and decent for Christian family viewing. I remember many of decent programs, but those were days when something dirty or obscene would bankrupt a network. I miss those days and don't do very much television watching. I do watch the news, weather, and a few clean shows from time to time. We get a station called TVLand that has nothing but the old and clean shows. If you check fairly often, you can still find many of your old favorites.

I like TVLand! They show things like Leave it to Beaver. I love that show.
I don't watch much tv these days. Most of it is too horrible to watch.

I was just chuckling some on a trip down memory lane. You mentioned "Leave it to Beaver", and that's one show that dad wanted us to watch because it always contained good morals. Besides that, it was funny. There were many old television shows that helped to teach good morals. Those that didn't were at least clean and wholesome entertainment.

I know that DreamWeaver is going to have a ball talking about how old I am now, but I don't care. I thought the silent shows were hilarious. You could laugh your head off with just a few captions and some music playing in the background. As an example, the car chase scenes in the Keystone Cops were outlandish.
