THE MIRACLE OF CANA.

"And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus said unto him, they have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come."

Such rudeness and irrelevance packed into one short statement! Of course, in that culture at that time, women, even those later to be considered to have been immaculately conceived, were, in the opinion of men at least, somewhat less than human; only slightly higher than the animals. JC here shows his all too human feet of clay.

MARK 11:13-14.
THE UNFORTUNATE FIG TREE INCIDENT.

"And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find anything thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. And Jesus answered and said unto it. No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it."

(Matthew 21:19 has a different version of what He said.)
Cursing a fig tree for not having fruit out of season? Childish pique if you ask me. After the tree had withered, JC used it to promise his disciples that, were they only to have faith and not doubt Him, they could be as destructive as he!

"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth; I come not to send peace, but a sword."

(Luke 12:51 says much the same thing.) Peace on Earth and good will toward men? Yeah, Right!

This is someone that is nitpicking, grabbing at straws. Such scoffers are not receptive to hearing the truth. In fact they are willing to make up falsehoods just to get their anti-Christ points across. Personally brother I would be shaking the dust off my shoes and heading for others that may be more receptive to God's word. Otherwise you will just be caught up in a continuing non-stop argument.

I understand and will after I can answer. I told them I would find an answer.

This not only shows a lack of understanding of the situation but it also shows how desperate this person was in making a point without substance.

First it is said by one person that Jesus wasn't blunt. Now we see a portion of scripture where He was blunt and to the point and He is now being accused of not being perfect. Like most instances with non-believers the whole point of this scripture is being missed. The use of the word "woman" shows great respect toward His earthly mother as it was according to Jewish tradition of that time to do. "what have I to do with thee?" Here Jesus is asking what concern is this to Him when He is to be about Godly business and not such a trivial matter in comparison.



Again the point is missed. It is not about Jesus showing any anger. It was another lesson that He was portraying to his disciples on faith. As with all the miracles that Jesus preformed it was with the intent of showing the power of God.



First let's look at that last statement of "Peace on Earth ... " This was said by angels in praise of God (Luke 2:14 )and in no wise was meant that Jesus would bring peace on earth. Jesus has kept His word in Mat 10:34 and those verses that follow. He did in fact bring a "sword" as His word is sharper than a two edged sword and He has brought about variance between mankind. Those that follow Him in truth and those that wish to do as the person that wrote this article did. When Jesus returns He will return with a sword and with wrath towards them that have rejected Him.

There is good news though. Jesus loves those that love Him and has provided a way to avoid that wrath.

Rom 3:10  As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Rom 3:11  There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
Rom 3:12  They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Rom 3:23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Rom 5:12  Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Rom 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Rom 1:18  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

Rom 3:20  Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

Rom 3:27  Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

Rom 5:8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Rom 5:9  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Rom 2:4  Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

Rom 3:22  Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Rom 3:28  Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Rom 10:9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Rom 4:21  And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

Rom 4:24  But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

Rom 5:1  Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Rom 10:10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Rom 10:13  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

There are many things I see in this quote from them that speaks volumes. First, I don't know of any Christian who would dare insult the Holy Name of JESUS CHRIST by referring to HIM with HIS initials. Second, they don't know anything about the Times of GOD that will be fulfilled. The Time for JESUS CHRIST being the Prince of Peace is NOT here yet. The worst wars, blood-shed, and human horror in history will happen first. JESUS CHRIST will end this horrible time with HIS SECOND COMING in Great Wrath.

JESUS CHRIST did give Prophecy that will be fulfilled at GOD'S Appointed Time, and that time might be growing near. Those people are making fun of something they know NOTHING about. It appears that these guys are having a hard time understanding what JESUS CHRIST said and why. Anyone can take portions of Scripture out of context and make things to appear unreasonable. It doesn't appear that their purpose is understanding. Their purpose appears to be mockery of GOD, and they are making fools of themselves. Great hosts of people will stop laughing when these times arrive. Here's another view of the same time by an Old Testament Prophet:

Isaiah 9:2-7 NASB
The people who walk in darkness Will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, The light will shine on them. You shall multiply the nation, You shall increase their gladness; They will be glad in Your presence As with the gladness of harvest, As men rejoice when they divide the spoil. For You shall break the yoke of their burden and the staff on their shoulders, The rod of their oppressor, as at the battle of Midian. For every boot of the booted warrior in the battle tumult, And cloak rolled in blood, will be for burning, fuel for the fire. For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this.

All of the above hasn't happened yet, but it will. JESUS CHRIST will use a TERRIBLE SWIFT SWORD FIRST, and HE is the HOLY ONE who will TAKE HIS Throne - the Throne of David in Jerusalem. It won't be a laughing matter at all.

Brother David, they are mocking GOD like very foolish children. I doubt that a real Christian forum would allow anything like this. I agree with Pastor Roger. You are casting pearls before swine. This is a Biblical description of someone trying to share precious Truths, and the receivers are handling it like pigs. The below is a quote from JESUS CHRIST:

Matthew 7:6  Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

I admire you for trying. I'd like to repeat an observation made here by others. You are growing in the Strength of CHRIST. We all have a growing process that GOD can help us with, and we can also help and encourage each other in these increasingly difficult times. Our fellowship is becoming more dear by the day, and we should know that GOD is with us. We share our love, praise, and worship of GOD together.
