One that sounds good, and a real one.” — J. P. Morgan “It is the confession, not the priest, that gives us absolution.” — Oscar Wilde “It would be a great reform in politics if wisdom could be made to spread as easily and as rapidly as folly.” — Winston Churchill THE DEMO-GOGUES The BIG Lie: “I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.” — Hillary Clinton **CBS News has video of the greeting ceremony. Oops. Break “You know, I think that, a minor blip, you know, if I said something that, you know, I say a lot of things — millions of words a day — so if I misspoke, that was just a misstatement.” — Hillary with a pitiful explanation Typical race hustler: “The point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn’t. But she is a typical white person who, uh, if she sees somebody on the street that she doesn’t know, there’s a reaction that’s been bred into our experiences that don’t go away and that sometimes come out in the wrong way and that’s just the nature of race in our society. We have to break through it.” — Barack Obama Break “We need a leader who can finally move beyond the divisive politics of Washington and bring Democrats, independents and Republicans together to get things done.” — Barack Obama, who apparently can’t move beyond the black and white divide From the King of “Other Stuff”: “I think it would be a great thing if we had an election year where you had two people who loved this country and were devoted to the interest of this country. And people could actually ask themselves who is right on these issues, instead of all this other stuff that always seems to intrude itself on our politics.” — Bill Clinton Some endorsement: “[A President Obama would] in some cases go around their dictator leaders [in the Middle East] to the people and inspire the people in ways that we can’t otherwise. He has the ability to help us bridge the divide of religious extremism...ecause he’s African-American. Because he’s a black man who has come from a place of oppression and repression through the years in our own country.” — John F. Kerry endorsing Barack Hussein Obama That’s the spirit!: “Americans also understand that the cost of the war to our national security, military readiness and our reputation around the world is immense and that the threat to our economy — as the war in Iraq continues to take us deeper into debt — is unacceptable.” — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi marking 4,000 deaths in Iraq ________________________________________ Title: The Patriot Chronicle 08-13 Post by: nChrist on March 26, 2008, 12:22:20 PM ____________________ The Patriot Chronicle 08-13 FREE E-mail Subscription: http://FederalistPatriot.US/subscribe/ ____________________ UPRIGHT “Seinfeld’s George Costanza famously quipped: ‘It’s not a lie if you believe it.’ This is how a Clinton — take your pick, Hillary, Bill or Chelsea — makes it through the day. Better living through self-delusion.” — Michelle Malkin “Which works best? Inflaming old hatreds and feeding paranoia among the next generation? Or teaching children that what they have in common is greater than their differences? The answer is obvious, but some people — both black and white — are deeply invested in preserving rather than healing wounds.” — Kathleen Parker “There will always be more to do in order to create that elusive ‘more perfect union,’ but it’s important for spiritual — and political — leaders to remind us that social conscience has sometimes done its work, that some things in the past are definitely dead, and buried.” — Suzanne Fields “Government... now resembles an irresponsible parent, spending the children’s wages and inheritance as if there were no tomorrow.” — Cal Thomas “The U.S. can welcome immigrants while at the same time encouraging assimilation. Everyone is free to practice the customs and language of his native land, but today immigrants are actively discouraged from learning the few common things that bind this country together, such as English... Anti-immigration sentiment will only rise if assimilation continues to be a dirty word.” — John Fund DEZINFORMATSIA Seemingly reporting: “Video shot that day [in 1996 in Bosnia] seemingly contradicts [Hillary Clinton’s] version of events. No one seems to be running or ducking, and there does appear to be a ceremony.” — CNN’s Dan Lothian **“Seemingly”? The video shows what it shows — no one running and a full greeting ceremony. Hillary the Terminator: “It is a tribute to Hillary Clinton that even though, rationally, political soothsayers think she can no longer win, irrationally, they wonder how she will pull it off. It’s impossible to imagine The Terminator, as a former aide calls her, giving up. Unless every circuit is out, she’ll regenerate enough to claw her way out of the grave, crawl through the Rezko Memorial Lawn and up Obama’s wall, hurl her torso into the house and brutally haunt his dreams.” — New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd From the sycophants: “By most accounts, Obama did a masterful job aligning the promise of his candidacy with the grievances expressed by both blacks and whites, noting in particular how the anger of working-class whites over affirmative action and welfare formed the Reagan coalition.” — Newsweek’s Eleanor Clift From the Queen of Baggage: “Barack Obama wanted to have a national conversation about race. Well, he’s getting one. Hillary Clinton’s campaign seems to be using the inflammatory comments of Obama’s minister, Jeremiah Wright, to make the argument to party insiders, or superdelegates, that Obama has too much baggage to win in November, as she seemed to acknowledge today.” — ABC’s Jake Tapper This week’s “Spike” Award: “The city of Detroit is in a crisis over government and leadership. The current Mayor is just the latest Detroit Mayor elected on a promise to clean up and revitalize the city. Now he’s been caught in a sex scandal, a trail of electronic messages reportedly provides the evidence, it threatens his career and then some.” — NBC’s Brian Williams, who by the way forgot to mention that the Mayor is a Democrat ___________________________________ Title: The Patriot Chronicle 08-13 Post by: nChrist on March 26, 2008, 12:24:46 PM ____________________ The Patriot Chronicle 08-13 FREE E-mail Subscription: http://FederalistPatriot.US/subscribe/ ____________________ Newspulper Headlines: Breaking News From 1755: “Ben Franklin Aids Two Bethlehem Firms” — Morning Call (Allentown, PA) Breaking News From Genesis 6:17-18: “Forecasters Warn of Flooding in Ark.” — Associated Press Won’t School Security Want to Search the Case?: “Students Make a Case for Carrying Guns to School” — National Public Radio Web site You Can Say That Again!: “Ex-Homecoming Queen Accused of Beating Sister With Leg in Trailer Sent to Rehab” — WTAE-TV Web site (Pittsburgh) News You Can Use: “Women, Want a Healthy Marriage? They couldn’t be more wrong. The U.S. war in Iraq — and by extension, President Bush — started coming under withering criticism not too long after it started in March 2003. Quickly forgotten were these salient quotes, made just the year before: ‘We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction.’ — Sen. Ted Kennedy, on Sept. 27, 2002. ‘It is clear... that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons.” — Sen. Hillary Clinton, Oct. 10, 2002. ‘We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country.’ — Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002. We could go on and on. Others said similar things. Suffice to say, support at the time for ‘doing something’ about Iraq was wide and deep. They even egged Bush on, urging him to get tough. Then, in the fall of 2002, Congress authorized Bush to go to war. Only later, in late 2003 and 2004, as polls showed public support waning, did many of those same prominent politicians who once enthusiastically stumped for war and even voted for it in Congress suddenly do an about-face. It stands as one of the most shameful political turnabouts in U.S. history. — Investor’s Business Daily VILLAGE IDIOTS Bad comparison: “[Bill] Richardson’s endorsement [of Barack Obama] came right around the anniversary of the day when Judas sold out for 30 pieces of silver, so I think the timing is appropriate, if ironic.” — Clintonista James Carville **“That’s typical of many of the people around Senator Clinton. They think they have a sense of entitlement to the presidency.” — Bill Richardson Don’t worry, they’ll be fairly tainted: “As we head into the November election, we can not allow for Congressional Democrats to be unfairly tainted in the eyes of the voting public. The Democratic leadership needs to challenge the current public perception that democrats [sic] aren’t delivering on their promises.” — Barbra Streisand We own you: “This is up to you, Congressman Conyers, this is your chairmanship. We won it for you. We voted for lousy Democrats all across the country so you could have the chairmanship and act on your promises and impeach these criminals.” — David Swanson, head of After Downing Street, a “peace” umbrella coalition, imploring House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers to bring impeachment charges against President Bush and Vice President Cheney From the “Anti-Warriors”: “It’s not about the Marines’ rights. We think we have a lot of rights in this country. We used to have the right to enslave people. We have the right to tell women they don’t have choice. We think we have a right to occupy Iraq! What about the right of the Iraq people to live without Marines attacking them and other military?” — Zanne Joi, professional protester with the anti-war group Code Pink, promising to continue protesting in Berkeley until the Marines leave. _______________________________________ Title: The Patriot Chronicle 08-13 Post by: nChrist on March 26, 2008, 12:26:15 PM ____________________ The Patriot Chronicle 08-13 FREE E-mail Subscription: http://FederalistPatriot.US/subscribe/ ____________________ SHORT CUTS “I have often said that Al Gore and I have something in common: If we invent a story up and keep telling it, after a while we think it actually happened. Now, it seems, we can add Hillary to our little club of Self-Delusional Dopes.” — Rich Galen “Obama gave a nice speech, except for everything he said about race. He apparently believes we’re not talking enough about race. This is like hearing Britney Spears say we’re not talking enough about pop-tarts with substance-abuse problems.” — Ann Coulter Break “The Glowbama mystique has gone the way of the Emperor’s clothes. Instead of accountability, we got excuses. Instead of disavowal of demagoguery, we got whacked with the moral equivalence card. Instead of rejecting the Blame America mantra of left-wing black nationalism, we got more Blame Whitey. Same old, same old.” — Michelle Malkin “We journalists make it a point to know very little about an extremely wide variety of topics; this is how we stay objective.” — Dave Barry “A new CNN poll just came out about the campaign. Interesting results... A new study shows that wine drinkers prefer Hillary Clinton to the other candidates. Yeah, after hearing this, Bill Clinton asked, ‘How much wine have they had?”’ — Conan O’Brien David Letterman: From the “Top Ten Signs the Government Is Spying on You”: You turn on television and see a live feed of your shower; While you’re ordering pizza, mysterious voice on the phone tells you to forget the mushrooms; There’s been an ice cream truck parked outside your house for nine months; Your dog has an antenna; You came home early and found an agent dusting your wife for prints; Your cat has an antenna; Drudge Report features exclusive news about your breakfast; During State of the Union, President suggests you to ask your doctor about Levitra. According to a new CNN poll, John McCain would win the presidential election if only beer drinkers voted. Now, a Democrat, either Hillary or Barack would win, if only wine drinkers voted. But here’s the interesting part, if we all got really drunk on tequila, Ralph Nader might actually have a shot. ... And out of force of habit, Barack Obama denounced the remarks and said he wasn’t even in the room at the time the statements were being made. ... Hillary Clinton was supposed to be our guest tonight, but she got pinned down by sniper fire. Who would have guessed Hillary would have more war stories than John McCain? ... Hillary’s campaign is claiming she misspoke when she said she landed under gunfire during her trip to Bosnia. Turns out it was gunfire on a trip to L.A. ... She now admits there weren’t any snipers. And today Bill Clinton said, “Hey, if I would have known there weren’t any snipers, I would not have sent her there in the first place.” Veritas vos Liberabit — Semper Vigilo, Fortis, Paratus, et Fidelis!
