Title: Walking through the park and reminiscing
Post by: Whitehorse on December 15, 2003, 08:35:34 PM
Well, we've all been here a while, so I thought it would be fun to reminisce about our favorite CU memories. Er...do we have any...?  ;D

Well..... I remember back in the good old days  ::) Symphony was a lot less grouchy and he was a lot of fun to post verses with and Jap Emp was more laid back before he got pounced upon so much and he was a lot less cynical and Early57 was a worthy opponent and had me scrambling for Scripture and Stompie taught me a thing or two about living for Christ and nekky folks brought in some chill bumps and SherBear was abducted by aliens and Ray had to put up with an awful lot.

So is that what you mean?  8)

Oklahoma Howdy to Whitehorse,

For me, it would be the every day things:

Prayer for each other.
Sharing joy, sorrow, thoughts, and testimonies.
Encouraging each other.

And we did survive the crash.

In Christ,
Tom

Sym not a grouch? Sapph not a complete $#&@? Man, I wish I was there! Sounds like a lot of fun!

I favorite memory was a week ago, when we where talking about Catholicism, and NOT insulting each other! I had the chance to talk about what I love to study without getting shot down ;D

Then again, bashing Sapph for being a complete $#&@ is fun, too  ;D

Hm. My favorite memories of CU. Knocking the socks off of Independent was quite fun-anyone remember him? And I'm still enamored with Tom's Christimas wish list...  ;D

My adventurous debate with Tib over Catholocism, and many good conversations with Symphony about culture, religion, and food.

Willow's fun and inspiration...

And all the great people here I cannot mention-everyone has their own unique beauty. Everyone here adds something special.

I think it would be fun to have a user of the week feature. Anyone who wants to be featured, pm me with the beta.

Thanks, this will remind me to save all of those unique catalogs and come up with a super list next year.   :D

Yes, I remember Independent very well. Here's a little bit of true trivia for you that might make you wonder, but it is confirmed information. Independent was also Garcolga, Someguy, and Knox. Yep!, 4 posters with one identity, and I think that all 4 got their socks knocked off.   ;D

In Christ,
Tom

That makes sense, bep, as I recall what I remember of each of those four personalities.  I'm wonder also if he's the same as one b4 the crash, "UnBeliever", or something like that--began I believe at the very beginning, like june '02.  He showed up briefly again here after the crash last March.

Nice to have you back, sincereheart.  'Sorry you can't stay.   ::)

Am I grouchy, Sincereheart?    ???

Funny, I don't think of myself that way:

Oklahoma Howdy to Willowbirch,

You are correct - Symphony is not grouchy at all. In fact, Symphony keeps the rest of us cheered up.

I think that Independent did enough to get a small army executed, so ADMIN banned him.

In Christ,
Tom

Yes, Idependent came into Broken's prayer request thread and tried to dish her faith. So I gave him a right! And then a left! Upper-cut! Then a cross like this!!! And then I dumped a bowl of stale, cold chocolate fondue on his head!!!

It was glorious.

In the summer of 2002 threads on scriptural nudity and nakedness were prevalent in the forum. Those responsible for their start were eventually banned.

Then there was the troll attack from a group at urban 75.com in the fall of 2002 along with the OSAS and OSNAS debate.

Then in early summer of 2003 the forum was put upon by a great many of the orthodox persuasion.

There was "team b member" who seemed as though he was searching for the truth but just could not quite get to it.
Is he here now under another name? It does not seem as if anyone posts in his style of writing.

Oklahoma Howdy to Brother Ollie and All,

I think that we had two or three attempts of proclaimed Christian Nudists trying to post in just the last 6 months. I don't think that ADMIN saw in humor in that at all. They may have been gone before many even knew they were here.

Quite a few other varieties had messages deleted before anyone saw them, and ADMIN had them banned on their first log in. Most of those involved very vulgar and obscene messages, some even involving graphic displays.

Then in early summer of 2003 the forum was put upon by a great many of the orthodox persuasion.

Let me see if I remember correctly. Son of Aslan and three or four others who seemed to be talking to someone who was never on the board, right?

Quote
There was "team b member" who seemed as though he was searching for the truth but just could not quite get to it.
Is he here now under another name? It does not seem as if anyone posts in his style of writing.

Right before the Evolution Board was removed, there was a person using the handle "Underground". Underground's last post in the Evolution Board was labeled "Team B".

I might add that we have recently survived several fairly well planned attacks by trolls. A couple of groups posted obscene material and were thankfully banned before many people saw their messages. There were also a couple of groups of trolls who stayed on the board for quite some time. There was quite a bit of deleting and modifying going on to keep them here for a while, but ADMIN finally had enough and all of the Christians cheeks were slapped raw before they were deported. RK, Eyeball, Longdog, and a couple of others were one of the groups. I think they planned to feed most of us to the lions, but they got eaten instead.   :D

I think that Christians Unite survived 2003. I give thanks for the many prayers that have been given here, many who were helped by God that we may or may not know about, some who were pointed to Christ here, and the friendships and Christian fellowship that God has nourished here. I also give thanks to ADMIN for providing our place of fellowship. God gave us second and third chances to mend broken or bent fences, and we all grew in Christ.

Thanks be unto God for HIS unspeakable GIFT.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Oklahoma Howdy to Whitehorse,

Saved4Ever made several posts recently and disappeared again. I'm thinking that many people may be out of pocket for the holidays, traveling, visiting family, etc. I'm hoping the same is true for Tamara, Romans8_1, KiwiChristian, and Hiedi. Reference Rose15, I think she gave up when nobody converted to Islam.

In Christ,
Tom
