Title: Attacks on Firemen
Post by: Annahavil on February 21, 2008, 05:24:58 PM
Here in Britain young people regularly attack firemen in different towns and citys.  Back in N. Ireland where I used to live firemen were attacked regularly in Belfast and Derry.  A little in some other towns but not much.  It is all so sad and disgusting.  I was reading in our local paper that firemen have been in schools explaing their work and safety.  Some of the pupils in these schools then were part of the gangs that regularly attack them.  Does this happen much in the U.S. and abroad I wonder.  Probably even more attacks in U.S. citys?

I haven't heard of any firemen getting attacked here in the U.S. in that manner, at least not yet. If there were I am sure that it would be all over the news.

I have read many articles on the attacks in Britain. The articles call it "recreational violence" or "recreational activity". It is far from being "recreational" in any manner. It is an outright crime and sad that men that risk their lives in the first place to serve the people are being treated in this manner. Just because these kids are poor and bored is far from being an excuse. This is another example of how degraded our societies have become all over the world as people further themselves from God and His word. Violence is becoming an acceptable activity, a "recreation", and we know that the Bible tells us that it will get worse. This is indeed another sign of the times that we live in.
