Title: Hollywood Influence? Post by: nChrist on February 09, 2008, 07:34:49 AM This is just a fun question, and I'm sure that Christians would answer it differently than non-Christians:
How does Hollywood endorsements for certain candidates effect you? As for me, I'll just bluntly state that I immediately have a negative thought about whoever they endorsed, even if I don't know a single thing about the candidate being endorsed. I'll just bluntly tell the truth and say that I believe the vast majority of Hollywood is ANTI: Christ Christians Christian values Christian conservative morals. I also usually think of the term "Ultra-Liberal" when I hear the word "Hollywood". I believe that Hollywood has earned this reputation over the years, so I don't think this is an unreasonable prejudice. On the other side of the coin, there are some good, decent, GOD-fearing people in Hollywood, but I think they are a tiny minority. So, a political advertisement made by a Hollywood Celebrity has an immediate negative effect on me unless I know that celebrity is a Christian and trying to live for the LORD. I'm positive that the lost would call me unreasonable in the way that I think, but I really don't care and would expect their condemnation. Speaking of Hollywood and condemnation, celebrities who come out of the CLOSET with a testimony for GOD are going to be shunned by the majority of Hollywood. Their opportunities for parts will be greatly diminished, and they won't be welcome in most of the Hollywood social circles. The same is true for conservatives. The overall Hollywood culture views Christians and Conservatives as unwashed and dim-witted individuals who need to be silenced. This is an unusual dichotomy since one of the major tenants of Liberalism is Free Speech. However, maybe this dichotomy exists because they view their thoughts to be intellectually superior and dim-wits shouldn't have the same rights to be heard. A gross example of the Hollywood mentality is recent events in Berkley, California. The Berkley City Council voted to expel Marine Corp recruiters from the city, but trans-gender cultural sensitivity events are welcomed with open arms. It's ironic to know the facts that the citizens of Berkley wouldn't have any freedoms at all if not for the Marine Corp and other brave men and women of many generations serving in the Armed Forces. Another recent example involves San Francisco denying the Silent Marine Corp Drill Team from performing on a city street, but a gay pride parade filled with nudity, obscenity, and open public sex acts was most welcome. This is the typical Hollywood culture that is perfectly acceptable, so you shouldn't have any trouble determining how they feel about Christians. Is this Hollywood culture and mentality spreading to other parts of the country? YES - at an alarming rate! SO, what are we watching? THE DEVIL AT WORK! Title: Re: Hollywood Influence? Post by: HisDaughter on February 09, 2008, 11:05:09 PM Most of them seem to be dumb, oops, I mean dem and left-wingers, so we have nothing in common. But since I couldn't give a flying hoot about what hollywood thinks on anything it wouldn't influence me one way or another. Neither would my neighbors or friends. As we all know around here, I have my own opinions. ;D

You have the first response to this question, and I was sad to see such a shy answer. ;D We're going to work on you and see if we can help draw you out of your shell to express yourself. ;D Just kidding, you actually remind me a lot of myself, and I like folks who tell things like they are. |
