Title: Messianic believer concerned God may judge America with 2008 election Post by: Soldier4Christ on December 10, 2007, 04:27:10 PM Messianic believer concerned God may judge America with 2008 election
The head of a pro-Israel ministry is concerned that God may allow the United States to suffer the same fate as ancient Israel for continuing to ignore God's covenant with Jewish people. While nothing substantive resulted from the recent Mideast summit held in Annapolis, the Bush administration has said it is pleased that the two sides agreed to restart long-stalled negotiations for a peace deal. Jan Markell is a Messianic Jewish believer who directs Olive Tree Ministries in Minnesota. She shares that she is deeply disturbed about that summit, believing that the U.S. could pay a serious price for Bush's continued push for a Palestinian state to be carved out of God's covenant land. "When Israel as a nation disobeyed, she got some pretty rotten kings. If she was in obedience, she got better kings -- and we are entering an election year. I would hate to see America get judged because of what we've done, and the playing out of that judgment come through the election of 2008," warns Markell. She says that the U.S. cannot continue to spit in the "apple of God's eye." Markell believes that right now America is at an economic, moral, and spiritual crossroads, and therefore needs the blessing of God more than any other time in its history. I do think that America will be sorry in the next Presidential elections.

Title: Re: Messianic believer concerned God may judge America with 2008 election Post by: Shammu on December 10, 2007, 05:06:26 PM I think it will depend on who gets into office and what direction that person and the people as a whole leads this nation. One of the most surprising developments of the last 50 years has been the dramatic shift away from Christian moral values that provided the foundation of Western civilization. Us, the older generations wonder why this is happening and where it will lead. Younger people seem oblivious to the concern. What goes unrecognized today is that dozens of prophecies are coming alive right before our eyes!! While some analysts realize why this is occurring, most have no idea where these changes will lead, yet the Bible reveals what lies ahead!! God predicted this incredible turn of events, and the resulting consequences long ago. Moses warned our forefathers that "after my death you will become utterly corrupt, and turn aside from the way I have commanded you. And evil will befall you in the latter days" (Deuteronomy 31:29). In recent decades, America while claiming "In God We Trust" on its coinage outlawed the posting of the Ten Commandments in public places, thanks to the ACLU. The Western media has become increasingly hostile to Christian values. Public schools demand value-neutrality. Religious leaders are increasingly prone to ambiguity and compromise in vital areas of doctrine and morals. The result has been a surge in divorce, cohabitation, sexual promiscuity, perversion, teen pregnancy, abortions, child abuse, drug abuse, rape, cheating, shoplifting, embezzling, bankruptcy, incivility, and violent crime, the very things God prophesied would happen to nations that forsake His laws (Hosea 4:1–3; Malachi 2:2 Timothy 3:1–9). Scripture reveals that misguided leaders will call "evil good, and good evil" (Isaiah 5:20). Today liberals assert that homosexuality and adolescent sexual activity are normal, and that traditional marriage is oppressive and confining. Former judge and acting Attorney General Robert Bork notes that many now want "the deviant to be normalized" and the normal made deviant. God warned that our society would become like Sodom and Gomorrah—sick from head to toe (Isaiah 1:2–10). Modern entertainment is so saturated with sex, violence and anarchy that normal relationships, respect for law and order and the value of human life are isappearing, especially in the young. Author Jim Nelson Black notes journalist Barbara Walters’ conclusion that many young people today have "no sense of discipline. No goals. They care only for themselves… they are becoming a generation of undisciplined barbarians" (Isaiah 3:4–5, 12). For America and other Western nations, the handwriting is on the wall. Many of us, (you have noticed it to Pastor Roger) see sobering parallels between the decadence of ancient civilizations in their decline and the decadence of Western culture today. Bible prophecy reveals God will punish our nations because of our sins. God warns "If you do not obey… I will break the pride of your power… bring a sword against you… send pestilence among you… lay your cities waste… scatter you among the nations… I will stir up your lovers against you… I will deliver you into the hands of those who hate you" (Leviticus 26:14–34; Ezekiel 23:9, 22–35). Recent disturbing trends in our laws and society, looking at matters of sex and lack of censorship and the relentless erosion of American moral values. The alarm has been sounded, it is more sobering than ever before. The rise of modern liberalism, which stresses the dual forces of radical equality of outcomes rather than opportunities, and radical individualism, has undermined our culture, our intellect, and our morality. There is no doubt that a culture war is raging in America, reports indicate. And the conflicts are largely about attitudes toward God and religion. I look at the media for attributing to the moral decline. I know.......... Shut up Bob.............. :-X :-X Title: Re: Messianic believer concerned God may judge America with 2008 election Post by: Soldier4Christ on December 10, 2007, 05:37:05 PM I also like "What’s Ahead for America and Britain?" and "Who Controls the Weather?" by Douglas S. I do think that America will be sorry in the next Presidential elections. This is basically what I said in another thread a few weeks ago and no one made a comment. I think America is in for a rude awakening and soon. No where are we mentioned in the bible. Which leads me to belive that we have a short history. And you know the old saying..... "The bigger they are; the harder they fall." This is sad, but I truely believe that America is just about done for, as we know it. We have given our country away in ways to numerous to count, but it's covers all aspects; financially, morally, physically, spiritually.... you get what I mean. America will be as if it never was. Mark my words. Comments? Title: Re: Messianic believer concerned God may judge America with 2008 election Post by: Maryjane on December 12, 2007, 10:31:34 AM I thank God for His mercy and for giving us a His Son that we can still present the gospel. I thank God that His Holy Spirit dwells within us and the grace that he gives that we can endure til we see Him face to face. I thank God that there is still hope for all and that hope is in Jesus alone and I thank God for each day to tell those who do not know the Lord that there is hope.

I agree totally that America does not show in the Bible in end times prophecy in a manner that we can clearly say "Yes, that is America". We see absolutely no mention of America there so yes I also agree that something will happen to take America out of the picture, to make us either non-existent or at least of no effect to such. Title: Re: Messianic believer concerned God may judge America with 2008 election Post by: Maryjane on December 13, 2007, 03:43:14 PM America does not cover it's eyes in shame and she will be like sheep that is sheered running naked in a wilderness. Famine in the land is not just starvation of food, but it is also spiritual and we are and have been in a spiritual battle and even though the devil may try to force his fury against us, we know he is doomed and we have to stand on the word of God and be equipped that when the days get worse we will be ready to tell this nation of hope. There was a generation of those who were predjudice and those have pretty much died off, now, th generation of free love and rebellion lead this land, after they die off, the next generation is the godless generation due to the children now being taught self where their parents do not care about God. These children will grow to make this a godless nation, so, our hope is being lead by the spirit to do whatever we can to spread the gospel to pray for every opportunity the spirit brings for in that hearts will be open to the gospel. It is not just for America but for this world.
Title: Re: Messianic believer concerned God may judge America with 2008 election Post by: Shammu on September 30, 2009, 12:32:40 AM BUMP!! Well we can see this happening right now. When Obama made his statement about Israel, we can see the results. The United States is falling from the Lords grace. We can thank the President of the United States, for that!! The greatest of men are only what God has made them. God in his grace prepares the way for the truth to come. There is no doubt that we are witnessing the rise of a new generation of moderate Christian leaders, including Rick Warren and Joel Osteen, who look more like Oprah Winfrey than Billy Sunday. Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins published Left Behind, the first in a series of novels that grew into the best-selling series of the past decade. Until they were finally overtaken by satan as, Harry Potter. Since entering office Mr Obama has overturned a number of policies that religious conservatives hold dear, such as a ban on government aid for family-planning groups that promote abortion in poor countries. Plans are also in the works to rescind a regulation enacted in the dying days of the Bush administration that gives health workers a “right of conscience”, protecting them from the sack if they refused to co-operate in certain medical procedures (mainly abortions). Social conservatives are also upset with Eric Holder, the new attorney-general, for confirming that the federal government will no longer take action against medical-marijuana clubs, which are legal in some states. I feel sorry for the people of the United States. I don't feel sorry for those who belong to God........... For we win, in the long run. No matter what happens to this mortal shell, there is a better body awaiting us. |
