The Re-established Jewish Sanhedrin

The Sanhedrin is the name given in the mishna to the council of seventy-one Jewish sages who constituted the supreme court and legislative body in Judea during the Roman period. It continued to function for more than four hundred years after the destruction of the Temple and there have been several orthodox attempts to re-establish it since that time.  The current attempt to re-establish the Sanhedrin is generally referred to as the "nascent Sanhedrin", or the "developing Sanhedrin".

Etymologically, Sanhedrin is a late Hebrew representation of the Greek word synedrion συνέδριον meaning "sitting together" as a legislative assembly or Senate.

It is interesting to note that several aspects of the U.S. Senate, including the semi-circle seating of the senators, were derived from the Jewish Sanhedrin by the Founding Fathers of the U.S. Constitution.  The Jewish Sanhedrin is a governmental body that resembles aspects of both the U.S. Senate and the Supreme Court.

The make-up of the council includes a President - Nasi, Chancellor - Av beis din, and sixty-nine general members who all sit in the form of a semi-circle when in session. Decisions are made by majority vote. The constitution of seventy-one is to preclude the possibility of a tie.  Members of the Sanhedrin are not elected, nor is their position permanent.  Any scholar, at any time, may gain a place on the legislature by proving a greater level of scholarship in Jewish Law than a current member of the legislature.

The Re-established Sanhedrin plays a very important part in prophecy. They are currently working to bring into being the re-establishment of Jewsih law. They are a driving force behind and with the Temple Institute which is an organization that is preparing to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. Many of the members of the Temple Institute are also members of the Sanhedrin. Currently the Temple Institute is making all the artifacts necessary in order to reinstitute temple sacrifices.

The Sanhedrin has called upon all groups who work in the area of Temple and Temple Mount-related research and activity, to begin to prepare detailed architectural plans for the construction of the Holy Temple, towards the goal of its establishment in its proper place.

The Sanhedrin will establish a forum of architects and engineers whose goal will be to implement this decision, so that detailed working plans are effectively brought to an operational stage.

The Sanhedrin has called upon the Jewish people to contribute towards the acquisition of materials for the purpose of rebuilding the Holy Temple; the gathering and preparation of prefabricated, disassembled portions of this building to be stored and ready for rapid assembly, in the manner of King David.

The Sanhedrin is not the current Israeli government nor does it recognize the current Israeli government due to the actions the Israeli government is taking in giving away land that was promised to them by God.

The Sanhedrin is growing by the day and becoming much stronger. It's influence on the Jewish community is greater by the day. We are seeing prophecy unfolding before our very eyes.
