Title: Cradle Robber at Large
Post by: twitterbugdust on November 26, 2007, 07:06:16 PM
Was feeling a little down one day and I penned this little poem... I tried to do it without bashing my ex while expressing my hurts...

I hope you enjoy it! I would like to share it...

Cradle Robber at Large!!!!

There once was a man who travelled other lands to preach of a "better life"
While there for a spell he met a young gal and decided to make her his wife
He went to her daddy sportin' a caddy and asked him for her hand
Daddy wanted to say "No" but he knew she must go
An before long she was wearing his wedding band...

The man took her away said this is where she must stay
And in a short time the young girl started to ball...
For in a weeks stay... she knew right away
Daddy never treated mamma this way at all...
She called home to her mother who tried to love her
From a phone and a long distance call

As mamma caressed her empty nest
She wished she could get rid of this pest
She prayed and she prayed all thru the night
Hoping for the answer with dawns early light
As the months turned to years there were so many tears
Her baby girl was stuck with this plight...

Why would a man who was ten years her senior
Come and woo her with such a false demeanor?
How could some one with so much charm
Use and abuse her and cause her such harm?
With his debonair smile oh such a fable
Why had he come and robbed HER Cradle?

As the years went on
the girl bore her own child
He was her life so meek and so mild...
A few yrs later she bore another
Now for sure she was a bonifide mother

They laughed and they played and they occupied her mind
They helped her to leave all her troubles behind
Although the pain and suffering never came to a halt
There was nothing she could do it wasn't her fault
When the children would call out in the morning to their daddy
He was always too busy driving away in his caddy

Late at night when he would finally arrive
The children would be sleeping
It was like he wasn't alive
Grammie bought one of them a ball and a bat ...He said thank you but..
My daddy doesn't play with me like that

As years grew on the young girl lost her song
And with his games was no longer willing to play along
She left the man to start over anew
When she sent for her children something was askew
Although he had never ever really played a part
Out of the blue the children had become the center of his heart

As the young girl now stands and looks at her nest
She only has one child to nurture at best
If he tries to steal her he'll be put to the test
With all of her strength and with all of her might
She'll hang on to this one so close and so tight

He has two out of three he'll not have another
He stole them from her like he stole her from her mother
