Title: A Question.. Post by: Maryjane on November 22, 2007, 12:54:32 AM Is it wise for a father to go into the labor room with his daughter instead of the husband? Should her mother have been asked to go into the room with her?..The father did not want anyone else to go into the labor room with his daughter...Her husband was left out..The father is a music minister and host many Walk to Emmaus retreats and believes this was a special moment between him and his daughter..The rason I am asking is that she is due again in February and her husband does not understand why this happens when these people are christians as well as he is..
If this is wrong..which I believe it is not wise..would you please pray for this family that it will not cause a wedge that will tear the little family apart.. Title: Re: A Question.. Post by: Soldier4Christ on November 22, 2007, 09:22:44 AM This is a special time for the parents of the baby and personally I would consider it very inappropriate for the grandfather of the baby to present in the room. As for the womans mother, the grandmother of the baby, it is more appropriate for her to be there than it is for the father. If I were the father of the baby I would have to insist quite firmly against this.
Yes, I will join you in prayer for them. Title: Re: A Question.. Post by: Shammu on November 22, 2007, 10:42:08 AM I agree with Pastor Roger, to me it is immoral. I'll also join you in prayers.
Title: Re: A Question.. Post by: HisDaughter on November 22, 2007, 12:46:54 PM I totally agree! Sounds like the father in this case is extremely controlling and kind of creepy. I will pray for this family and it's unity, but I would still hope that regardless of the outcome that the husband in this case would put his foot down. He and his wife are one now. Not she and the father.
Good Grief. In Christ, Grammyluv Title: Re: A Question.. Post by: Eva on November 22, 2007, 11:16:24 PM Is it wise for a father to go into the labor room with his daughter instead of the husband? I will definitely be in prayer about this VERY ODD situation. Doesn't God say...Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. The husband should take precedent over the daddy. I was blessed enough to have my husband and my mother in the labor room, but when my daughter had to be delivered by emergency C-Section, my mother stepped aside as only one of them could attend. I have always been daddy's little girl, but never considered inviting him in to watch me give birth. EWW-Just my personal opinion here. Love in Christ, Eva Title: Re: A Question..
