Title: What is needed for salvation? Post by: David_james on November 21, 2007, 01:17:04 PM I want to figure something out. I have some questions but need answers to a few first.
What is everything we must believe and do to get salvation? Leave nothing out. Title: Re: What is needed for salvation? Post by: Soldier4Christ on November 21, 2007, 01:21:35 PM The best way to answer this is to let scripture speak on it. If you still have questions, brother ask away.
Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Salvation, salvation from death under the law by God's perfect grace. Rom 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: Rom 3:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. Rom 3:12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Rom 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Rom 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Rom 4:21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. Rom 4:24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Title: Re: What is needed for salvation? Post by: David_james on November 21, 2007, 04:42:10 PM I believe all that, but what If I believe it's okay to do something and taught it is, but unknown to me, it's wrong. Will I still have salvation.

Title: Re: What is needed for salvation? Post by: Soldier4Christ on November 26, 2007, 04:36:11 PM Hi David,
I'm sorry I didn't see your previous post. I'm not quite sure exactly what you are asking here. Some people attempt to use such a philosophy to say they are saved yet wish to continue in their sinful lives. As an example we see this in those that call themselves Christian Homosexuals. Jesus tells us that His laws will be written into our hearts. This is telling us that He will put within us what is right and wrong. That we truly accept Him as our Saviour that we will not have an excuse for not knowing. There are those that refuse to read the Bible because if they do and see that they have been wrong then they will "know" they were wrong and then figure they will be held accountable. I'm sorry but they will be held accountable anyway. This does not mean that they will lose their salvation, they will not experience the fullness of Christ, the rewards that we are promised. Salvation is not based on our works. It is a free gift from God. If we are truly saved though from the love that we have for Christ we should want to do all that we can to please Him. This includes following His word not the teachings of men. I hope that this answers your question and is of some help to you. |
