King Juan Carlos of Spain Top Candidate for Antichrist

--And the Reasons Why

In these times, like others before, many are claiming that they have identified the Antichrist. Napoleon, Hitler, Mussolini, Gorbachev, and even Reagan are some who have been "identified" as the Antichrist. Now, however, with the apparent decrease of U.S. influence in the Middle East peace process, due to the negative relations currently between President Clinton and Yasser Arafat, a leader of the "Revived Roman Empire" (the European Union, it would seem) appears ready to fulfill the prophecy of Daniel 9:27 regarding the "'prince who is to come'" who shall "'confirm a treaty with many for one

week'" (where "one week" means "7 years").

 

The Bible indicates, in Daniel 7:23-25, that this "'prince who is to come'" will be the leader of, apparently, the 11th nation to join what is referred to as the "Revived Roman Empire". The European Union, given its form as a "union" of nations from the Old Roman Empire, and given its "arising" during the same generation that witnessed both Israel becoming a nation in 1948 A.D. and Israel regaining control of the holiest sites of Jerusalem in 1967 A.D., is quite likely the fulfillment of the prophecy of the "beast with 10 horns" described in

Daniel 7. The "'prince who is to come'", the Antichrist, will apparently be the ruler of the 11th nation to join this "Beast".

 

If the European Union is the fulfillment of the "beast with 10 horns" of Daniel 7:7, then the Antichrist will be the ruler of the 11th nation to have joined that Union. Spain was the 11th nation to join the European Union, and the current ruler of Spain is King Juan Carlos. It appears to be quite likely that King Juan Carlos of Spain is the Antichrist.

 

King Juan Carlos was born in Rome, Italy on January 5, 1938 A.D.. His full name is, "Juan Carlos Alfonso Victor Maria de Borbon y Borbon". His father's full name was, "Juan Carlos Teresa Silverio Alfonso de Borbon y Borbon". His father was in exile from Spain while Francisco Franco ruled Spain following Franco's overthrow of the Spanish monarchy. Juan Carlos (the son), from the age of 10, was personally trained under Franco's direction, and graduated from all three of Spain's military academies.

 

In 1962 A.D., Juan Carlos married Princess Sophia of Greece, and they had two daughters, and a son (Felipe). Juan Carlos was appointed Franco's successor as ruler of Spain, against the wishes of Juan Carlos' father, who still laid claim to the throne of Spain. In November of 1975 A.D., Juan Carlos became king of Spain after Franco's death. Juan Carlos is a highly respected and honored king and "statesman", having led Spain through a crisis in 1981 A.D. when some of the military sought to wrest control of Spain from the

monarchy.

 

According to Daniel 9:27, the "'prince who is to come'" (the Antichrist) shall "'confirm a treaty with many for one week'". A recent news report (Reuters - August 12, 2000 A.D.) stated that Israel is requesting that King Juan Carlos help "mediate" the current Middle East peace process between Israel and several of Israel's Arab enemies, primarily the PLO. The news report stated that those involved were hoping the planned meeting in Spain in early 2001 A.D. (or perhaps before) would "consolidate" the peace process. The term, "consolidate", is a synonym for "confirm", and means to "strengthen". What

is also interesting in regard to Spain and the Middle East peace process is that the peace process began in Madrid, Spain in 1991 A.D.. Also, see The Covenant for a copy of a document supposedly circulated among all jews in 1992.

 

Spain is not only deeply involved in the Middle East peace process directly, but also in several significant "indirect" ways. The Secretary-General of NATO since 1995 A.D., the person who makes the military decisions for NATO, has been Javier Solana, the former Spanish foreign minister. NATO would likely be the "military force", under the United Nations, and representing the European Union, which would "oversee" any kind of peace agreement between Israel and the Arabs.

 

Also, the European Union appointed a special representative to the Middle East peace process, having the title, "European Union Special Envoy to the Middle East peace process". This "EU Special Envoy" is Miguel Moratinos, the former Spanish ambassador to Israel.

 

Interestingly, a former ambassador to Spain, Shlomo Ben-Ami, is Israel's representative in seeking King Juan Carlos' "mediation" in the peace talks. So, there are at least three separate ways Spain is "indirectly" involved in the Middle East peace process.

 

Thus, King Juan Carlos, as the leader of Spain, is quite "involved", actually, in the Middle East peace process. As mentioned before, one of the primary descriptions of the Antichrist in the Bible is as the "'prince who is to come'" who shall "'confirm a treaty with many for one week'" in Daniel 9:27. King Juan Carlos, based on the evidence presented, could quite likely fulfill this prophecy by "consolidating" the Middle East peace process.

Another prophecy in the Bible regarding the Antichrist is found in Revelation 13:18, where the "Beast" is the Antichrist. Revelation 13:18 (New King James Version) says, "Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666." Revelation 13:17 identifies this "number of the beast" as the "number of his name". King Juan Carlos has versions of his name in 10 languages, each using the same numbering system (except for Latin, which uses the Roman numeral system), which each add to 666.

 

The languages in which King Juan Carlos has versions of his name which

add to 666 are the following: Hebrew, Greek (two ways), Latin, English,

Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, German, and Russian. Except for

Latin, each of these versions uses the Hebrew/Greek numbering system,

which is as follows: 1,2,3,...,9;10,20,30,...,90;100,200,300,...,900. The spelling in at least two or three of the versions is questionable, though not unreasonable; and the French version is perhaps unlikely, though possible.

 

The English version of King Juan Carlos' name which adds to 666 is: "(John) Charles V of Spain". "John" is placed in parentheses in order to be able to "identify" him as "Charles V", the fifth king of Spain with the name, "Charles".

 

The version which is most likely the fulfillment of Revelation 13:18, based on several indications, is the "Scriptural" Greek version (which uses no "obsolete" Greek letters for numbers). That version is, in Spanish: "Juan Carlos de Borbon II". In "Scriptural" Greek, this becomes: "Ioann Karlos de Borbon B".

 

(One interesting side note: King Juan Carlos' son, Felipe, has a version of his name which adds to 666 in "Scriptural" Greek. That version is, in Spanish: "Felipe de Borbon II" [he would be, should he become king, the second Bourbon king of Spain with the name, "Philip" {"Felipe"}]. In "Scriptural" Greek, this becomes: "Feliph de Borbon B". [Prince Felipe was born in 1968 A.D..])

 

So, several prophecies of the Bible appear to indicate that the Antichrist will be the ruler of Spain; and Spain is rather involved in the Middle East peace process. These facts, combined with the versions of King Juan Carlos' name in 10 languages, particularly in "Scriptural" Greek, which each add to 666 using the same numbering system (except for Latin, which uses the Roman numeral system), strongly suggest that King Juan Carlos is the Antichrist. I, personally, believe that he is.

King Juan has a sailboat named "The Dragon" Also: From the 1992 Olympics in Spain which King Juan orchestrated. /The closing spectacle at the Olympic games this past summer in Barcelona, Spain, was an exercise in demonic/pagan symbolism which ended with the mating of a Black Serpent and the Greek goddess of love and fertility, the multi-breasted Artemis who then gave birth to the "Great Dragon", the head of which rose 75 feet above the top of the stadium. The alleged theme of the pageant was the birth of the world in fire and it was represented by 250 happy devils...who began the "festival of fire". Giant wooden structures including 2 caped figures of Satan and grinning goats head, were set ablaze and constantly moved through the cavorting devils. A group of devils, one dressed in the robes of a king,danced frenziedly around a fiery maypole... Weird tones, underlaid with constant jungle drumming, were sporadically joined by eerie wails, long sighs and howling. Occult symbols were everywhere. Well represented was the Baphomet(goats head of witchcraft), the pentagram or "devils star", the maypole, which is an ancient pagan phallic symbol, and demonic faces well endowed with horns. As expected, television network commentators were "awed" by the spectacle. At times the audience joined the celebration, swaying to the demonic music with arms outstretched to heaven. King Juan once made a speech to the Argentine Republic about democracy and he said "NEVER MUST ANY IDEA OF THE STATE OR ANY MESSIANIC DELIVERER COME TO WREST FROM US OUR DIGNITY AS FREE MEN". Need I say more?

 

Here's what the late medium Ruth Montgomery said about King Juan in an interview in 1987, "He is going to make some very wise decisions within the next decade that will not only help prepare his people, but Europe, too. Question: Prepare for the shift? Answer: Yes. The shift refers to the great moment in history when they expect life on Mother Earth will "shift" to the Utopian Age of Aquarius when their people will take over the events of Earth, all opposition will be quelled, and there will be harmony on Earth because the opposing people(Christians and Jews and any who do not follow their Messiah Maitreya or the Space Brothers and Masters of Wisdom) will all be transferred to "another dimension". Sounds like the rapture to me!

Juan Carlos I (baptized as Juan Carlos Alfonso Víctor María de Borbón y Borbón-Dos Sicilias; born January 5, 1938, Rome, Italy) is the reigning King of Spain.

On 22 November 1975, two days after the death of Francisco Franco, Juan Carlos was designated King according to the law of succession promulgated by Franco. He successfully oversaw the transition of Spain to a democratic constitutional monarchy. Recent polls show that he is widely approved of by Spaniards.[1] Juan Carlos's titles include that of King of Jerusalem, as successor to the royal family of Naples. He is also a descendant of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom through his grandmother, Victoria Eugenie; of Louis XIV of France through the House of Bourbon; of the Emperor Charles V, who belonged to the Habsburg dynasty of the Holy Roman Empire; of the House of Savoy of Italy; etc.

His name, while rarely anglicised, is rendered as John Charles Alphonse Victor Maria of Bourbon (and Bourbon-Two Sicilies). He was given these names after his father (Juan de Borbon), grandfather (Alfonso XIII) and maternal grandfather (Prince Carlos of Bourbon-Two Sicilies).

Born as son of H.R.H. Infante Don Juan de Borbón, Count of Barcelona (Conde de Barcelona ), son of Alfonso XIII of Spain, and Princess Maria Mercedes of Bourbon-Orleans. He has one older sibling, a sister, Infanta Pilar, and two younger ones, Infanta Margarita, and the late Infante Alfonso. He was baptized by Eugenio Cardinal Pacelli, the future Pope Pius XII.

The future King's early life was dictated largely by the political concerns of his father and Franco. He moved to Spain in 1948 to be educated there after his father persuaded Franco to allow this. He began his studies in San Sebastián and finished them in 1954 at the San Isidro Institute in Madrid. He then joined the army, undergoing officer training from 1955-1957 in Zaragoza.

In 1956, when Juan Carlos was 18, he reportedly shot and killed his younger brother, Infante Alfonso, in a gunplay accident after returning home from Mass. This event occurred in the family residence in Estoril, Portugal[2].

Starting in 1957, he spent a year in the naval school at Pontevedra and another in the air force school in San Javier in Murcia. In 1961, he graduated from the Complutense University, majoring in Political and International Law, Economics and Public Administration. He then went to live in the Zarzuela Palace, and began carrying out official duties.

The Standard of the King of SpainThe regime of Francisco Franco had come to power during the Spanish Civil War, which had pitted republicans, anarchists, socialists, and Communists against conservatives, monarchists, and fascists, with the latter group ultimately emerging successful. Despite his alliance with monarchists, Franco was not eager to restore the deposed Spanish monarchy once in power, preferring to head a regime with himself as head of state for life. Though Franco's partisan supporters generally accepted this arrangement for the present, much debate quickly ensued over who would replace Franco when he died. Monarchist factions demanded the return of a hard-line absolute monarchy, and eventually Franco agreed that his successor would be a monarch.

The heir to the throne of Spain was Juan de Borbón (Count of Barcelona), the son of the late Alfonso XIII. However, Franco viewed the heir with extreme suspicion, believing him to be a liberal who was opposed to his regime. Franco then considered giving the throne to Juan Carlos's cousin (and proven Francoist) Alfonso, Duke of Anjou and Cádiz, who had married Franco's granddaughter in 1972. In response, Juan Carlos started to use his second name Carlos to assert his claim to the heritage of the Carlist branch of his family.

Ultimately, Franco decided to skip a generation and name Prince Juan Carlos as his personal successor. Franco hoped the young Prince could be groomed to take over the nation while still maintaining the ultra-conservative nature of his regime. In 1969, Juan Carlos was officially designated heir and was given the new title of Prince of Spain (not the traditional Prince of Asturias).

Juan Carlos met and consulted with Franco many times while heir apparent and often performed official and ceremonial state functions alongside the dictator, much to the anger of hard-line republicans and more moderate liberals, who had hoped that Franco's death would bring in an era of reform. During those years, Juan Carlos publicly supported Franco's regime. However, as the years progressed, Juan Carlos began meeting with political opposition leaders and exiles, who were fighting to bring liberal reform to the country. Franco, for his part, remained largely oblivious to the prince's actions and denied allegations that Juan Carlos was in any way disloyal to his vision of the regime.

During periods of Franco's temporary incapacity in 1974 and 1975 Juan Carlos was acting head of state. Near death, on 30 October 1975, Franco gave full control to Juan Carlos. On 22 November, following Franco's death, the Cortes Generales proclaimed Juan Carlos King of Spain and on November 27, Juan Carlos ascended the Spanish throne with an anointing ceremony called Holy Spirit Mass which was the equivalent to a coronation at the Jerónimos Church in Madrid.

I have been hearing about various individuals being accused of being the Antichrist.

One of the first accusations I heard about was published in the form of a book that identified former U.S. Secretary of State Henry A. Kissinger as the “Antichrist”. That was over thirty years ago.  For the record, though he is still active in world affairs in an unofficial way, Kissinger is about 84 years old and semi-retired.

But that isn’t all, barely even the start. Every U. S. President since and including the late Ronald Reagan has been accused of being the Antichrist. Prince Charles of Great Britain has been accused of being the Antichrist. Lately, Javier Solana, the President of the European Union, has been accused of being the Antichrist. Every Pope in the past fifty years has been accused of being the Antichrist. And God only knows how many others!! All of the people who make these accusations have their arguments for why the person accused is the Antichrist.

I am not going to bother with trying to refute their arguments. Anyone who has studied logic and debating knows that it is very difficult to prove a negative. However, one thing should be obvious to everyone: The suspects can’t all be the Antichrist! So which one is? My position is that the correct answer is “None of the Above”.

Accusing someone of being the Antichrist is slander! It is something that Christians should not be doing. Would you seriously accuse George W. Bush of being a Hitler? I guess some people would, but I doubt that many people would take the accusation seriously, yet too many people have taken the accusations mentioned above seriously. If you accept the proposition that a particular person is the “Antichrist”, you are slandering him.

These accusations are a very bad testimony. Don’t think that the unsaved world doesn’t see this stuff. Because they do, this is a public Christian forum. Accusations like that tell unsaved people that Christians are a bunch of malicious, evil-minded crackpots. Though relatively few really are, it only takes a few to give the whole Christian Faith a bad name.

he Book of Revelation should be considered the final word, literally and figuratively, on Second Coming Prophecy. There are a number of reason’s why, but the most important is that it is the Lord Jesus Christ in His ascended, glorified state who appears in the first chapter as the Giver of the Book. It is, as the Book itself says, “The Revelation of Jesus Christ”; not the “Revelation of St. John the Divine”, as it has been called by some.

The one we call the “Antichrist” is the king who receives the seemingly fatal head wound that will be miraculously healed. Again, on the basis of what the passage in Revelation 13 says about him, he definitely does not fit the popular concept of the Antichrist. There is nothing there to suggest that he is a “nice guy”. There is no suggestion that he promises solutions to all the world’s problems. However, there are a number of things said that give us a clear description of what he will be like:

He will be given the power of Satan, a throne, and great authority.

He will apparently be militarily invincible.

He will be given a mouth to say proud things and blaspheme God.

He will make war against the saints and conquer them.

And of course, he gets that head wound that is healed.

I have speculated about the identity of the Beast. I have asked myself the question; is there anyone alive right now who in any way really fulfills the description of the Beast? There is such a person, but he is not one of the people mentioned above. Yet he has a name that any American would recognize.

 He has a mouth uttering proud things and blaspheming God. When he speaks publicly, he gets headlines. In fact, there was an instance of this only a couple of weeks before this was written.

He is at war with the saints. He has made that perfectly clear to anyone who really listens to what he says. He hasn’t just attacked with words. He has used deadly force.

As far as being militarily invincible, he has not defeated anyone as yet, at least not materially, but neither has anyone been able to completely defeat him, and people are trying. No one seems to be able to directly do anything against him.

He has a “throne” in that he is the unofficial head of a major international movement that has big plans.

Of course, he doesn’t yet completely fulfill the description, but we shouldn’t expect him to do so until the Great Tribulation begins. Although he hasn't received the head wound yet, the wound gives indirect support to this possibility. There is probably no man alive that more people want to kill. So no, I will not give his name out, so I don't fall into the same trap others do.

The Antichrist will arise out of the of ten kingdoms.

Rev 13:1-18 1 [AS] I stood on the sandy beach, I saw a beast coming up out of the sea with ten horns and seven heads. On his horns he had ten royal crowns (diadems) and blasphemous titles (names) on his heads.  2 And the beast that I saw resembled a leopard, but his feet were like those of a bear and his mouth was like that of a lion. And to him the dragon gave his [own] might and power and his [own] throne and great dominion.  3 And one of his heads seemed to have a deadly wound. But his death stroke was healed; and the whole earth went after the beast in amazement and admiration.  4 They fell down and paid homage to the dragon, because he had bestowed on the beast all his dominion and authority; they also praised and worshiped the beast, exclaiming, Who is a match for the beast, and, Who can make war against him?  5 And the beast was given the power of speech, uttering boastful and blasphemous words, and he was given freedom to exert his authority and to exercise his will during forty-two months (three and a half years). 6 And he opened his mouth to speak slanders against God, blaspheming His name and His abode, [even vilifying] those who live in heaven.  7 He was further permitted to wage war on God's holy people (the saints) and to overcome them. And power was given him to extend his authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation, 8 And all the inhabitants of the earth will fall down in adoration and pay him homage, everyone whose name has not been recorded in the Book of Life of the Lamb that was slain [in sacrifice] from the foundation of the world. 9 If anyone is able to hear, let him listen:  10Whoever leads into captivity will himself go into captivity; if anyone slays with the sword, with the sword must he be slain. Herein is [the call for] the patience and the faith and fidelity of the saints (God's people).  11Then I saw another beast rising up out of the land [itself]; he had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke (roared) like a dragon. 12 He exerts all the power and right of control of the former beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell upon it to exalt and deify the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed, and to worship him.  13 He performs great signs (startling miracles), even making fire fall from the sky to the earth in men's sight. 14 And because of the signs (miracles) which he is allowed to perform in the presence of the [first] beast, he deceives those who inhabit the earth, commanding them to erect a statue (an image) in the likeness of the beast who was wounded by the [small] sword and still lived. 15 And he is permitted [also] to impart the breath of life into the beast's image, so that the statue of the beast could actually talk and cause to be put to death those who would not bow down and worship the image of the beast.  16 Also he compels all [alike], both small and great, both the rich and the poor, both free and slave, to be marked with an inscription [stamped] on their right hands or on their foreheads,  17 So that no one will have power to buy or sell unless he bears the stamp (mark, inscription), [that is] the name of the beast or the number of his name.  18 Here is [room for] discernment [a call for the wisdom [d]of interpretation]. Let anyone who has intelligence (penetration and insight enough) calculate the number of the beast, for it is a human number [the number of a certain man]; his number is 666.

I've never tried to use Numbers to see who it was, I've seen some of those "T.V" shows that tries a bunch of stuff with Numbers, I DON'T believe in such things as that...
Please know I'm not accusing him of being that man....(His Son fits the best Profile of that man though)
My conclusions on this hav'nt come by numbers or divine intervention, But based on the facts that exsist on him & his Familys History & their Past...
He truely fits the profile of that man though, And by that statement "I Don't mean that it IS Him"

One of the problems that cause many people confusion is that there are many anti-Christs. Many of these anti-Christs are actually setting the stage for The Anti-Christ, the beast of Revelations. These many will fit the description in many ways but will not fit it exactly. Until the time that he is revealed it is nothing more than pure speculation. (2Th 2 )

I'm in total agreement.  However my personal feeling is that we will never know for sure who it is because we will have been raptured before his true identity is known to all.

TV is a dangerous medium for todays time. There are quite a few lies being told daily, which is why Christians shouldn't follow "worldly things."

My take on this subject, as a "pre-trib", is this:
The Christians that are alive now will not be here.
I think the antichrist will be someone the least suspected, because how else will he get the world to trust him.  The world at this time will not have the Holy Spirit here for counsel.
I don't think his true identity will be known until mid-trib when his true colors will show.
I think the whole "head wound" ordeal will happen between the rapture and mid-trib, probably closer to mid-trib.  This is when he will become "god-like" and will set himself up to be worshiped.
The rest is as they "history" or will be!

Of course there is more.  This is just my little "nutshell" as it were.
