A team of scientists ascended Mt. Kilimanjaro to do testing around the calderas and other tests concerning 'global warming'. Mr. Gore and others in the world blame this phenomena exclusively on polluting emissions. The bible tells us that after the 1000 years of 'the bottomless pit' condition, the earth will be 'the lake of fire'. That said, it is interesting what the scientists found. Sort of by accident. They stopped to rest at a caldera which had no eruption in modern history. When they sat down on the ground, one of the scientists put out his hand to prop himself on. He immediately removed his hand, reflexive action. The ground was hot to the touch! They lowered a temperature reading instrument and found, at about 1 foot below the surface, that the temp was 130 degrees (thereabout)

Could it be the earth is preparing now for the times to come? We also hear of great activity in the Yellowstone Caldera. And other places around the earth. It seems the magma is getting closer and closer to the surface in many diverse areas.

We must be very careful when it comes to the book of Revelation...
You say, you believe that the book of Rev. say's the earth is going to be "the lake of fire"?(AFTER the 1000 yrs.)
or did you just mean that as a figure of speech?
If not, you have totally misinturpited it...
I would love for you to show me the chapter & verses that state that the Earth is going to be
"the lake of fire"?
If you can show me 1?,
I'll show you 50, that says otherwise...

The Bible says that hell is enlarging herself. That is a fact. The Bible speaks of hell as being down, and of heaven as being up. That is a fact. The center of the earth has the characteristics of hell - darkness, heat, fire, etc.

Job 28:5 As for the earth, out of it comes bread, but underneath [its surface, down deep in the mine] there is blasting, turning it up as by fire.

Matthew 12:40 For even as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the sea monster, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

What is also interesting, is that just before the Lord destroys this old earth and makes a new one, He is going to resurrect everyone out of hell, and then cast them into the lake of fire.

Revelation 20:11-21:1 says, “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and DEATH AND HELL DELIVERED UP THE DEAD WHICH WERE IN THEM: and they were judged every man according to their works.   And DEATH AND HELL WERE CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE. This is the second death.  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.  And I SAW A NEW HEAVEN AND A NEW EARTH: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.”

The millennium is over. Satan has been eradicated from the new Heaven and new earth once and for all. Jesus is the light. All prophecies have been fulfilled. Revelation 22 is a further description of life on the new earth and in the new Jerusalem. Verse 17 is an invitation to salvation for all who will trust Jesus Christ as Savior. And then a warning in verses 18-19, "Don't mess with the contents of the Book of Revelation!" It is what it is - a revelation of the end that is progressively illuminated to us as we approach the end of this dispensation. As time passes, more and more of this prophecy is specifically manifested to us as we see current events fall into place.

This was just an article that I saw somewhere else and thought it might be of some interest to others here on the forum.

It is something that is of interest. I think that it is something that we should all be interested in. This is however a difficult area of study and one that can take some time to understand.

To answer the question on it, I do believe that things are starting to show themselves as the Lord said they will. We see in prophecy where there will be a lot of chaos in the world in the last days and yes I do believe this in one of the many signs that we are heading into those times. Perhaps this is the means whereby a third of the earth is burned? (Rev 8:7) One of the things that occurs when a volcano erupts can be hail storms giving both fire and hail coming down as a result of it.

Thank you. The article is timely and is of interest to many people. So, I feel bad that you were challenged for just posting a thought-provoking article in the form of a question. The Bible answers involve numerous difficult portions of Scripture. Books have been written on this subject, but I think that Dreamweaver (Brother Bob) has given a good answer without posting a book and spending 6 months to do it. This is one area where one question can easily lead to a hundred more questions.

2 Peter 3:3-13 NASB
Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation." For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat! But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.

Fire is definitely part of the earth's future. YES - we are seeing many SIGNS that indicate the last days of this Age of Grace are near.

I think that the biggest message for Christians is to get busy with GOD'S Work and listen to the burdens on our hearts. The time might be growing short for the lost to accept JESUS CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOUR. We should be doing what we can for lost family members, friends, and people we don't even know. The fires of hell for eternal punishment will be a hopeless reality for the lost. Brothers and Sisters, we don't have much time left.

This earth will be destroyed, and a new one created. So, no, earth will not be the Lake of Fire.
