Title: A Reminder for All of Us Post by: Debp on September 29, 2007, 06:03:07 PM A man was being tailgated by a stressed-out woman on a busy boulevard. Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection.
The tailgating woman hit the roof, and the horn, screaming in frustration as she missed her chance to get through the intersection with him. As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer. The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up. He took her to the police station where she was searched, fingerprinted, photographed, and placed in a cell. After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened the door. She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects. He said, "I'm very sorry for this mistake. You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping the guy off in front of you,and cussing a blue streak at him. I noticed the 'What Would Jesus Do" bumper sticker, the 'Follow Me to Sunday School' bumper sticker and the chrome-plated fish emblem on the trunk. Naturally, I assumed you had stolen the car." -- Author Unknown Title: Re: A Reminder for All of Us Post by: islandboy on October 01, 2007, 07:09:27 PM Very good. We've been missing you. I have an advantage on this problem. I don't drive unless it's an emergency, so I'm a back-seat driver most of the time. I get to talk about all drivers. ;) My wife normally drives, and I simply give her compliments on her excellent driving. ;D However, nobody in my family acts like a fool in the car, but I know there is an ever increasing number of folks who go into a rage over almost anything (even when they're wrong). Title: Re: A Reminder for All of Us Post by: Joey on October 07, 2007, 10:20:49 AM Hello Joey, Brother, I'm glad to see you back on the forum. We've been missing you. Aww brother, that was so kind of you.Thank you.....So much of what is talked about on here seems to go right over my head. But that said, i still love looking in when i can and reading the threads. I always seem to learn something or go away feeling inspired....And i love the way people seem so friendly. Ok, back on topic. Road rage here in England seems to be getting more and more common and sadly, even the occasional murder has taken part because of so called road rage. Once again, i think we can put this all down on the breakdown of society and how people just do not have basic manners and courtesy and want the best just for themselves without caring about others. If people are going to put fishes or crosses onto their rear windows/bumpers, then i wish they would remember what message they are giving out, if they lose there temper while behind the wheel. The erosion of what's left of morals and decency is so rapid now that it can almost be measured by the day. Man's systems and societies are fracturing and falling apart. The pace quickens as the nations turn away from GOD. This is a global problem, and I doubt that ALMIGHTY GOD will put up with it for long. There were times like this before the flood in Noah's time. GOD gave mankind a second chance, and it doesn't appear that mankind learned anything. In fact, many want to completely deny that the flood ever happened. After all, that would be admitting that something in the HOLY BIBLE is true. As for Christians, we should be doing the opposite of the world and draw closer to GOD. Our strength, hope, refuge, and Salvation is in HIM. SO: Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable GIFT, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour Forever! |
