'Advocates for America' unveiled by Liberty Counsel

A Christian legal organization is calling for a concerted prayer effort for true revival in America.



Liberty Counsel has kicked of what it calls "Advocates for America," a nationwide effort that asks Christians to pray for Liberty Counsel, the country, and major issues facing values voters this year and beyond.

Mat Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel, says the country is feeling the effects of a spiritual war. "Not only in the courtrooms but in the legislative halls, in the schoolrooms all over America, there's a huge attack against our culture, against religious freedom, the sanctity of human life and even the basic definition of the family," he says. "So the Advocates for America prayer campaign is designed to get people together who want to pray for America and then give them specific things on which to pray."

The Christian attorney believes America is facing a turning point and that Christians need to humble themselves in prayer. He says that Christians need to confess individual sins as well as corporate sins, and ask forgiveness "for the shed blood that we have spilled on American shores under the guise of abortion as a free choice. And [for] the audacity that we have to redefine the family with some of our courts."

According to Staver, it is time for true Christians to do as previous generations did -- take action and pray.
