Title: Solana: There is no potential for war between Israel and Syria Post by: Shammu on September 03, 2007, 04:12:01 AM Solana: There is no potential for war between Israel and Syria
By Barak Ravid, Haaretz Correspondent In an interview Sunday night with Haaretz, European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana said he saw no reason for any forthcoming military conflict between Israel and Syria. After arriving in Israel last night, he met separately with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in Jerusalem and Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas. Solana said that Israel took several measures recently aimed at reassuring Damascus, noting that the decision by the Israel Defense Forces to move the location of a major military exercise from the Golan Heights to the Negev was a sign that Israel does not want Syria to misinterpret its actions. The main item on Solana's current agenda is preparing for the Mideast summit scheduled for November in Washington. Solana cautioned that the parties must be realistic about their expectations but said many things are moving forward. He said Abbas and PA Prime Minister Salam Fayad seem to understand the position they are in as well as the opportunity that has been created and are taking constructive action. According to Solana, Olmert is also very open to progress. Solana noted the exact dates of the summit have not yet been set, and that while the second half of November seems promising, the precise timing depends on the amount of work accomplished before the meeting itself. The veteran diplomat gave a cautious answer when asked whether Syria should be invited to the Washington parley, saying that as many Arab states as possible should take part but that they must be countries which will contribute to a solution. I believe Solana is setting the stage/motion for the rest of the month. We need to watch this guy.
The sad thing is the church is so asleep. It is interesting to look at the average Christian, and this means nothing, but one day articles like these point to events that will mean everything to everybody. I don't know if a peace treaty is necessary. In the Bible in Daniel 9:27 just states a covenant. The peace process itself may be a foreshadowing of the first seal. In other words, there will be a false peace, whether a false peace treaty comes out of it or not time will tell. Daniel 9:27 And he shall enter into a strong and firm covenant with the many for one week [seven years]. And in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and offering to cease [for the remaining three and one-half years]; and upon the wing or pinnacle of abominations [shall come] one who makes desolate, until the full determined end is poured out on the desolator. Title: Re: Solana: There is no potential for war between Israel and Syria Post by: nChrist on September 03, 2007, 01:35:06 PM Hello Dreamweaver,
YES Brother, the CHURCH is asleep, and so is most of the rest of the world. One of the things that disturbs me greatly is the apparent lack of knowledge of the Holy Bible. I'm not talking about fine details, rather of basic knowledge on things like Israel and the CHURCH WHICH IS THE BODY OF CHRIST. Please don't think that I'm bragging about anyone's knowledge of the Bible, including myself. That's not my intent at all, and I hope this post doesn't even give this hint. I'm sad that many Christians are apparently baby Christians and they stay that way because they won't study their Bibles. The world is a powder keg right now, and it centers on Israel. It appears that the fuse on the powder keg is lit and horrible things may go into motion. Further, these horrible things are quite possibly Bible Prophecy or at least a preview to the unfolding of Bible Prophecy. If not NOW, it will probably be soon. As we both know, Syria and Israel are absolutely mentioned in Bible Prophecy by name, and so are other entities that bear the same names they did thousands of years ago. You and I also know that Damascus will be destroyed. We know this because GOD promised that it would be destroyed in Bible Prophecy. I have also been trying to keep up with the activities of Solana. I've thought several times that he might be the agent who makes the false 7 year peace treaty with Israel. "Solana" isn't specifically mentioned by name in Bible Prophecy, but the false 7 year peace treaty is. The "7 year" period of time is no coincidence when compared to the 7 year Tribulation Period - because both of them are one and the same. Brother, I don't suggest that every Christian attempt to become experts in the area of Bible Prophecy, but I do suggest that every Christian do everything possible to become Strong in CHRIST and study their Bibles. The world is becoming more evil by the minute, and Christians desperately need the Strength and Knowledge of CHRIST - not men! Without it, many will be deceived, and many are ALREADY DECEIVED by FALSE doctrines and teachings! The devil is making his last plays, and he has great skill. Our defense will be the knowledge of CHRIST and GOD'S WORD. Love In Christ, Tom Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable GIFT, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour Forever! |
