IDF Air Strike Kills Top Hamas Commander in Gaza City

by Ezra HaLevi

(IsraelNN.com) Israeli’s Air Force killed the top Hamas terrorist commander in Gaza City Wednesday. Yehiye Habib was killed in the strike and three of his deputies were wounded.

The IDF confirmed the air strike, saying the men were approaching the Gaza perimeter fence.

The strike is the latest in a string of IDF targeted killings aimed at those involved in firing rockets at Jewish towns.

Despite the pinpointed strikes, the IDF has failed in its mission of stopping the Kassam rockets. Two rockets were fired at the western Negev from Gaza Wednesday morning. They landed in open areas and no injuries were reported.

Overnight Tuesday, Arab terrorists fired Kassam rockets at Israeli towns from Gaza, hitting a factory in Sderot’s industrial area and causing extensive damage. On Tuesday, three Kassam rockets struck the western Negev – one hitting a kindergarten in Sderot. The children were not present at the time and no injuries were reported.

In a radio interview Wednesday morning, MK Tzachi HaNegbi (Kadima) said that a full IDF incursion into Gaza is inevitable, in order to uproot the terrorist infrastructure that has blossomed there since the IDF withdrawal from the Gaza region in the summer of 2005.

Three Islamic Jihad terrorists were killed by the IDF Tuesday in Gaza, along with two children. The men were spotted by IDF surveillance near a rocket launcher and the strike was put into effect. The IDF noted that terrorist groups have made a habit of using children to retrieve the rocket launchers after they are used.

Hamas seems to have an endless supply of top leaders, of course it they want to get rid of someone all they have to do is leak the fact that he is the supposed new top leader.
