Title: Re:Favorite Movie Lines! Post by: nChrist on November 12, 2003, 10:17:59 AM Oklahoma Howdy to Whitehorse,
Clint Eastwood quotes from the Dirty Harry movies were joked about regularly by many of my police officer friends. -------- Dirty Harry - Sudden Impact "Go ahead, make my day." Forrest Gump "My momma always said life was like a box of chocolates…you never know what you're gonna get." --------------- In Christ, Tom Title: Re:Favorite Movie Lines! Post by: Symphony on November 12, 2003, 07:05:20 PM hi bep, Forrest Gump.... ::) ( :-[)
Aunt Mary, in Disney's "The Happiest Millionaire"(based on a true story of the Philadelphia Biddle family just before WWI...), when Mr. Biddle(Fred McMurray) challenges Angere to a boxing match: "There's nothing so dangerous as the inspired amateur." :-\ :-X Title: Re:Favorite Movie Lines! Post by: Tibby on November 13, 2003, 09:38:34 AM BAM the movie is "They Live"! I knew a cup of coffee would help. ;) And it was Rondny Riper's charactor who said it! Now I just need to recall his name! lol Well, I'm off to school.
"I'm here to sleep, and the turn in my essay... And I didn't do the essay" ;D Title: Re:Favorite Movie Lines! Post by: Symphony on November 14, 2003, 05:43:21 PM I guess this is all Tibby ever does....(http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/sleep/schla08.gif) ;D Yes, bep, 3 Stooges will ALWAYS do. Phew! That's a relief. ("Malice in the Palace".... 8)) Title: Re:Favorite Movie Lines! Post by: Whitehorse on November 16, 2003, 02:47:33 PM My browser is like a box of chocolates. "It's like you're reading your mind!" "Okay, now read mine." A Walk to Remember Title: Re:Favorite Movie Lines! Post by: Symphony on November 30, 2003, 10:03:24 PM I haven't seen that one yet. I need some context.
How 'bout this one: "You can turn me down, And send me away, But I'll be back, Some other day." ;D (Billy Reed, the eternally obnoxious door-to-door salesman, in the old b&w, "The Egg and I", starring Fred MacMurray, where he drags his urban-loving wife into Washington state's primeval, hillbilly Olympic forest, to build and start a chicken farm... :-\ (--The later inspiration for Green Acres...)). :-[ Title: Re:Favorite Movie Lines! Post by: tqpix on November 30, 2003, 11:10:44 PM "The Future is what you make of it, so make it a good one."
-- Doctor Emmitt Brown (Back to the Future, Part III) Title: Re:Favorite Movie Lines! Post by: Whitehorse on December 01, 2003, 11:44:55 PM I haven't seen that one yet. I need some context. Jamie, a Christian girl who has agreed to help a rebel classmate study lines to a play he's been drafted into by school administration, asks him if she'll see him that afternoon. But he's in front of his cool friends and replies, "In your dreams." So she goes home, and of course he comes by grovelling later because he's secretly in love with her. So she plays dumb, true to Jamie Sullivan style, and then tells him to read her mind and gives him a solid stare. Then she goes inside and shuts the door in his face. (She has a way with him. Although I'm uncomfortable with the unequal yoking in the film, it is in all other respects quite elegant. It shows how a Christian girl impacts her entire town when a secret about her becomes known, which I won't tell you in case you want to see it. Title: Re:Favorite Movie Lines! Post by: Symphony on December 02, 2003, 04:42:18 PM Ahhh, I see.
Jamie, a Christian girl who has agreed to help a rebel classmate study lines to a play he's been drafted into by school administration, asks him if she'll see him that afternoon. But he's in front of his cool friends and replies, "In your dreams." 'Reminds me of Witherspoon's first boyfriend in "Legally Blond"--too busy for her and on to important stuff like law school at Harvard(or was it Yale). ::) But then he shows up there only to find that she's going there too! I love the sarcasm. Hehe. Perfect. 8) ...and of course he comes by grovelling later... 'Just like the guys. We're such saps. ::) ;D It sounds like a funny scene. It sounds like something Witherspoon would have said, too. Maybe I'll get to see it; I'll look for it at the video store, if it's out yet. ...it is in all other respects quite elegant. Mmmm, now that's what we need, a bit more elegance. ;) ...It shows how a Christian girl impacts her entire town when a secret about her becomes known... Hmm, sorta like "It's a Wonderful Life", mayb a little?(Overdone in recent years, but excellent point---the influence(s) we are all having on each other all the time, intentionally or no... ...which I won't tell you in case you want to see it. That's nice. Very elegant of you, Whitehorse. Nice summary. Thanks. Title: Re:Favorite Movie Lines! Post by: Whitehorse on December 02, 2003, 07:45:35 PM When asked what she put for number one on her to-do list for life, Jamie quips:
"I'd tell you. But then I'd have to kill you." :-X Title: Re:Favorite Movie Lines! Post by: Symphony on December 02, 2003, 10:50:00 PM :-X Title: Re:Favorite Movie Lines! Post by: Allinall on December 06, 2003, 01:06:40 AM Mission To Mars - The 3 astronauts have just entered the Martian building that looks like a very large, fallen white face. One astronaut checks the atmosphere and finds it breathable. Goes something like this:
1st astronaut - "The atmosphere in here is breathable" 2nd astronaut - "Impossible!" 3rd astronaut - "We're thousands of miles from earth inside a giant white head - what's impossible?" Love that line. :D Title: Re:Favorite Movie Lines! Post by: Allinall on December 06, 2003, 01:11:25 AM Best Western line I've ever heard from Quigley Down Under - after stating at the beginning of the movie that he didn't have much of a use for 6-shooters (being a long range rifleman), Quigley finds himself in a quick draw contest for his life against three bad guys. He draws, fires, and takes them all out. He walks up to the guy he'd told this to at the beginning of the movie, who now lies dying and says...
"Said I never had much of a use for 'em. Never said I didn't know how to use 'em." ;D Title: Re:Favorite Movie Lines! Post by: Tibby on December 06, 2003, 02:07:19 AM From A knight’s Tale

Post by: Oldiesmann on November 03, 2004, 10:37:44 AM I have a lot of favorite movie lines, but my all-time favorites come from the 1987 movie Spaceballs. While the movie is a bit crude in spots and the language isn't great, there are a ton of funny quotes from that film, including:
"I'm a Mawg. Half man, half dog. I'm my own best friend!" "May da Schwartz be with you!" "What's the matter, Colonel Sandurz? Chicken?" "I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate!" Title: Re:Favorite Movie Lines! Post by: Shammu on November 07, 2004, 10:57:22 PM True Grit (1969)
