Title: What is happiness to you? Post by: joyunending on April 26, 2003, 10:52:25 AM I always think of the words 'Happiness is----" and I wonder if we truly know what it is or do we make it fit the way we live.
I always have felt that happiness is when you have a light heart, a feeling of peace and joy over something or someone, or just you life in general. We all know we get times of depression and a sadness over situations, or life happenings, but when are you your happiest? At the birth of a child? Your wedding? Watching God's perfect world around you? Watching your son or daughter lying asleep in their beds, smelling fresh from their bath, with the look of innocence on their dear faces? Smelling your moms or grandmas famous pumpkin pie or their hand made buns and bread? Hearing a meadow lark or a cardinal sing their little hearts out? The sight of your own children with thier babies in their arms? There are soooo many reasons we should be happy. God gave us so much here in this country, on this earth, may we always be thankful, happy and praising Him for it all!!!! Just thought it would be nice to sit back and really think of all the times the word happy would have fit the occassion........ God bless,,,, Joy Title: Re:What is happiness to you? Post by: IrishAngel on April 26, 2003, 06:03:33 PM I think the ability for true happiness lies within each of us, and does not rely on external influences as much as we have been persuaded to believe...it`s peace and contentment of heart and soul that comes from a deeper understanding of our individual life purpose that is not affected or removed or brought on by material things, or the good or bad that revolve around us.

Thanks for posting this, I think it's nice to sit back and think about what happiness is truely about. I have to agree with Irishangel, it's not about material things! It's the simple things that bring the most pleasure. For me it's my husband's and children unconditional love. They love me at my worst and at my best. It's my children picking a handful of dandilions and saying "Here mom I picked these for you". Or the look of love in my husbands eyes when he looks at me. Happines is all the small things that people sometimes are to busy to enjoy. The very things that make lasting memories. Thanks Joy Terri |
