Title: Explosives found in car in Berkeley County, SC Post by: Faithin1 on August 04, 2007, 11:18:05 PM Police: Explosives found in car in Berkeley County
Aug 4, 2007 10:02 PM EDT GOOSE CREEK (WCBD) - The FBI and the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department are investigating what they think are explosives found in a car in Goose Creek. Police say part of Highway 176 in Berkeley County is closed, and traffic is limited to local residents around Mount Holly Road. WIS News 10's sister station in Charleston, WCBD, reports authorities pulled over a suspicious car at around 6:00pm Saturday. Officers asked to search the vehicles, and discovered what investigators say are "possible explosives" located in the trunk. Once federal agents were brought in and analyzed the situation, an FBI-controlled robot pulled a bag filled with the suspicious items from the vehicle. The two men inside the vehicle, which is reported to have Florida tags, have been detained at the scene. WIS News 10 talked to an FBI spokesperson who told us she could neither confirm or deny a possible link between the vehicle and a terrorist plot. http://www.wistv.com/Global/story.asp?S=6887434 Title: Re: Explosives found in car in Berkeley County, SC Post by: Soldier4Christ on August 05, 2007, 12:42:48 AM I'm not surprised.
Title: Re: Explosives found in car in Berkeley County, SC Post by: Faithin1 on August 05, 2007, 03:19:08 PM I'm not surprised. Nope. It is only a matter of time before suicide bombers start attacking our cities. We can thank our government given our continued open borders. Title: Re: Explosives found in car in Berkeley County, SC Post by: nChrist on August 05, 2007, 04:37:40 PM Hello Faithin1,
I know that I've never seen such a time of gross incompetence from our government. It's almost as if they don't recognize any danger from any source, nor do they seem to understand the probable consequences of their inaction. In fact, much of the nation appears to be lulled to sleep, and they care more about politics than being attacked on our own soil. It's like being surrounded with people waving sticks who have promised to hit and poke you, yet you grin and say "Nah!" It doesn't even matter that the same folks making the promises have already hit and poked you with their sticks numerous times all over the world and HERE! The politicians are MUCH more worried about the next election that they are about us being attacked! It's absolute insanity, and it's too late to fix all of the bone-headed INACTION! It's so bad that it looks like many of our politicians are working for the enemy. I know that isn't true, but the gross ignorance makes it appear so. Further, our politicians aren't being paid by our enemies, but they should be! They haven't even taken MINIMUM precautions. The WELCOME mat is out and they've said come get us - WE'RE EASY! I'm not just disappointed - I'm DISGUSTED with the lame stupidity of our government! We are SITTING DUCKS and our government is determined to bring the hunters to us! Well, they are coming in greater and greater numbers - AND they are already here! It will be easy to thin the ducks out, and the ducks won't even know what hit them! They won't even need duck calls because the rules of HUNTING won't be observed! I too am thoroughly disgusted. It is disheartening to watch the greatest country in the world facilitate its own destruction. I'm sure our enemies can't believe the ease in which they have entered our country. Given the events of 9/11, and the continued threats from Al Qaeda, one would expect our government to secure our borders at any cost. The refusal of our government to protect this country is absolutely unfathomable. I keep expecting to wake up from this nightmare, but then I realize it isn't a dream, it's reality. It's hard to believe this is the United States of America. It is truly a sad time. I can't help but think of how God has abundantly blessed our country. In return, He has been systematically minimized. However, I still believe our country can be saved if we return to God and live according to His will. I pray it isn't too late. Title: Re: Explosives found in car in Berkeley County, SC Post by: Soldier4Christ on August 05, 2007, 11:50:55 PM Goose Creek Bomb Suspects Identified
Authorities demolished a suspicious item found in a car that led police to close a highway outside Charleston Saturday night. WIS News 10 spoke with officials at the Berkeley County Detention Center who said 24-year-old Ahmed Mohamed and 21-year-old Yousef Megahed, the occupants of the car, are still in police custody. So far they have only been charged with possession of explosive devices, but the FBI is working to see if more crimes have been committed. The article goes on to say... Officials say the men did not show up on any terror suspect list, and authorities don't think they posed a threat. Hmmmm, it seems the al-Qaeda who tried to bomb Glasgow Airport were not on any lists either. I'll say it again, it helps if the guys in your secret cell are, you know, secret. One bomb was ready to detonate and another was under construction. Via ABC NEWS4: Goose Creek - Two men are being held in the Berkeley County Detention Center after police find explosive making devices in their car. The men had atleast one ready to go bomb and bomb making materials that include chemicals. Yeah, these men didn't pose any sort of threat and this incident is not terror related. ::) ::) ::) Title: Re: Explosives found in car in Berkeley County, SC Post by: nChrist on August 06, 2007, 04:21:46 AM I think there is more to this story on the Goose Creek explosives than most people will know about. Goose Creek is also the home of the Navy Nuclear Power School. I would think that there are more significant targets nearby, but who knows? The school isn't secret, but it is important to the future of our military power.
In all reality, we have a huge number of easy civilian and military targets all over the country, and we are like sitting ducks. Title: Re: Explosives found in car in Berkeley County, SC Post by: Soldier4Christ on August 06, 2007, 09:58:11 AM You're right. I forgot all about that being there. I always refer to it as Charleston instead of Goose Creek. Goose Creek is the location of a Naval Weapons Station, an Air Force and Coast Guard base as well as a Military supply facility and a whole lot more in various nearby locations.
You're probably right that we will never hear the full story on this one. In all reality, we have a huge number of easy civilian and military targets all over the country, and we are like sitting ducks. That's exactly what I was thinking. It's very interesting that more media attention hasn't been given to this. It really makes one wonder what else we aren't being told.
