Title: Aquariums Post by: Kristi Ann on July 04, 2007, 06:53:16 AM Hi Everyone! :D
I really like Aquariums! I had them since I was very small with my parents. I have a 29 gallon since 10 years. Now its in my master bedroom. This tank has Rena xP2 FilStar Canister filter, 150 watt Rena heater, and silent Airwhist 300 air pump. Now, in my living room I have a 55 aquarium tank its 4 feet wide and 13 inch and 20 inch. It weighs 700 pounds, because water weighs about 8 pounds for one gallon, it has 60 pounds gravel, and the Stand is very pretty, its a Sedona Wood Stand and Canopy! The Stand weighs 111 pounds. I have a Rena xP3 Canister FilStar filter, 300 watt Rena heater, also silent Airwhist air pump. It is Very Relaxing to watch fish swim, instead of television! Does anyone Else Like Aquariums? Love Loves You, YSIC \o/ KristiAnn MsGuidedAngel Hi KristiAnn, I have a 40 gallon tank with big Angelfish, Guppies, Neon Tetras and a Plecostomous. I've had fish since a teenager...yes, it is very relaxing. What kind of fish do you have? I once had a Plecostomous that grew to 12 inches! He lived for many years....for those of you that don't know, they are sucker mouth fish that clean the algae away. Ibtina, your pond sounds wonderful....I love any water features, so relaxing and pretty. Can you post a photo of it? Title: Re: Aquariums Post by: angel on August 03, 2007, 04:42:34 PM i love fish. i gave my tank away when i moved but i am thinking of getting another one.

In the pet catalogues, they can be quite expensive. But where I live in Los Angeles, there is Kyoto Aquarium on Wilshire Blvd and he sells aquariums quite reasonably. I guess he figures he'll make money on selling the fish and supplies. I need to get a couple of female guppies as two of them died. Have one female and a few males. Would have more, but my Angelfish eat the guppy babies apparently. Oh, my Angelfish laid eggs again on a leaf (they did this about 2 months ago, too). Then they ate the eggs again. The owner of Kyoto Aquarium told me they'll do that if the eggs are not good. Or if I have 2 females and the eggs weren't fertilized, I guess. Guppies, angel fish, serpae tetras, black fin tetras, high fin black tetras, an algae eater, platties, mollies, and more. Even a couple abino african frogs. Do you have to have a platform for the frogs to get out of the water? Title: Re: Aquariums Post by: islandboy on November 30, 2007, 06:09:29 PM While I don't have a aquarium now, when I was growing up we had a tank with some goldfish and angel fish. It is very relaxing and
interesting to sit and watch them. Even though they don't go far it is fun to watch their antics as they interact with each other. We also had pet turtles when I was a kid. The kind that were about as big as a fifty-cent piece and came with their own colorful plastic home where they could get in water if they chose to do so, or climb the winding road and sit out of the water. Don't know what kind of turtles they were. It's also fun to learn about the different fish and which ones get along (community tank). Had one of those turtles when I was a child, but poor thing, we didn't know anything about how to take care of it. These frogs don't need a platform. They just go to the top of the tank as needed, then back down towards the bottom. They will die if they get out of the tank. Sorry for my delayed reply......I've been working nights and it's very hard on me. I have to be able to function during the day and at night and I'm soooo very tired most of the time. |
