I'm glad to hear that you are Santa this year because we are broke. I want a loaded Dell computer with all of the trimmings. This has to be a sure deal because I've been a good boy this year. Post by: KiwiChristian on October 30, 2003, 02:14:32 AM I dont' want anything for Christmas for myself really although I would like people to realise that it is about Jesus being born at that time of the year not about presents and artificial stuff (if that makes sense)
Title: Re:What do you want for Christmas? Post by: Willowbirch on October 30, 2003, 05:41:32 AM Christmas is always depressing for me. Not the celebration of Jesus, of course; and I enjoy the Christmas "season". But the whole business that we wait for on December 24-25...and then its over...and you've got to clean up, and find room for new things you didn't need, and the wonder is gone...*sigh*. What I want for Christmas is simplicity, purity and love. (And world hunger to be eliminated, and homes for the homeless, and children to have familes, of course... ;))
Title: Re:What do you want for Christmas? Post by: nChrist on October 30, 2003, 10:34:38 AM Oklahoma Howdy to Forrest, KiwiChristian, Willowburch,
AMEN! Brothers and Sisters. Jesus is the reason for the season. I've been joking about getting a new computer for about three years. However, the old one still works with duct tape and baling wire. ;D The GIFT of Jesus to the world is the best and most precious GIFT. I, like you, would pray for the lost to receive this GIFT, not just at Christmas but every day. This reminds me of a very positive and jovial friend. Every time he saw any of his friends, he wished them a Happy New Year. He was also a very happy and positive Christian, and he considered each new day a new opportunity to do God's Work and seek HIS Will. In Christ, Tom P.S. To Allinall, If I get more than one pair of socks, I'll give you a pair. ;D Title: Re:What do you want for Christmas? BEP, that sounds like a wonderful idea. And you've been good this year. :)

And you've been good this year. :) Oklahoma Howdy to Whitehorse, Being completely serious, all of the things I've prayed for have been granted by Almighty God. I really don't want or need anything. God gave me a healthy new grandson and took care of my daughter before and after having the baby. My son is on his way home from the Gulf and is currently safe in Hawaii on liberty. My son's leave has already been approved, and he will be home starting December 17th. I've already had a Merry Christmas many days before December 25th. I've also given thanks to Almighty God every day, and I'll do the same on December 25th. I celebrate Jesus every day. In Christ, Tom Title: Re:What do you want for Christmas? Title: Re:What do you want for Christmas? Post by: nChrist on October 30, 2003, 04:51:09 PM Oklahoma Howdy to Whitehorse,
Yes, the threads devoted to homosexuality and Islam were deleted. Some of the older threads which contained 98% hate and war were also deleted. There were also a few of the old threads that contained garbled posts, maybe the result of system recovery or who knows. Almost nothing was deleted that didn't fit into these categories. One example that doesn't fit was a thread devoted to the use of marijuana as being Biblical. It is important to note that quite a few Christians came to Christians Unite and left because of the messages that were deleted. Numerous comments were made about this becoming a sex forum instead of a Christian forum. I would hope and pray that deletion of these threads would encourage more Christian participation and discourage trolls who have come here to destroy Christian fellowship with these types of posts. Love In Christ, Tom Title: Re:What do you want for Christmas? Post by: Whitehorse on October 30, 2003, 05:17:28 PM I meant this thread biting the dust. But for me ... To see the faces of my son and daughter as they come into the room with the presents will be the best part. I have been so blessed, that I really, really don't care about 'things'. I've got what I need and all the rest is gravy. I want to hear innocent laughter from my kids. I want to roll around on the floor with them and tickle them. I'm looking at a catalog and have ideas for the person who has everything. Forget the Christmas list and take a look at these: "I Love Lucy" Talking Clock Toilet Golf - Yes, that's right - a mini putting green that goes around the toilet. Elvis Clock - Elvis sings "Don't Be Cruel" and "Hound Dog" on the hour. Talking toilet paper dispenser - record a personal message up to 7 seconds in length. A "Today Is Not Your Day" t-shirt "Harley Engine Sounds" wall clock - sounds on the hour A "Frogs Playing Chess" lawn ornament Ceramic Rooster Salt & Pepper - Napkin Holder Set "Talking Horse" wall clock that neighs hourly A rooster soap dispenser that crows when you get soap ---------- Well, there you have it, the answers for your difficult Christmas list. ;D In Christ, Tom Title: Re:What do you want for Christmas? Oklahoma Howdy to Willowbirch, ;D I was thinking the same thing, but then I started thinking about buying something for each of my brothers. I can see someone having some fun giving a gift like these. For whatever reason, we got three catalogs full of gifts like this. I'll post some of the more memorable ones later. They are fun just to look at, but I'm sure they are making money with the catalogs or they wouldn't be able to afford sending them out. It's just something for a good, clean laugh. In Christ, Tom Title: Re:What do you want for Christmas? Post by: Whitehorse on November 10, 2003, 09:25:04 PM Oh, they make Hello Kitty everything. I guess they even had SUVs for a couple of years overseas. If I'm remembering it right, they were made in Japan, they stopped in 1999, and they had the cat's face on the grill and around the door locks. I think that is going a bit far. ;D I guess they have a documentary book or something called, "Hello Kitty Everything." It features their various products over the years.
I know someone who has the toaster. You can get them in Sanrio stores in the mall. BEP, I love the idea of sending gag gifts! Title: Re:What do you want for Christmas? Post by: nChrist on November 11, 2003, 07:31:14 AM Oklahoma Howdy to Whitehorse,

Money is really tight, and most of the gag gifts don't cost an arm and a leg. Here we go with some more must haves that I'm positive they don't have yet: A stuffed moose footrest to go in front of your chair. ;D Slipper socks with cushioned foot and snowflakes all over them. A ceramic raccoon downspout to decorate your roof gutter. A dressed up stuffed bulldog that dances and sings "It had to be you". ;D His and Her Santa chair covers for the patio (with heads of course). LOL - enough for now. Sportsman's Guide has a lot of cheap gifts, too. Like a Jackalope head for the wall. (For those of you unfamiliar with the tale, supposedly there's a very elusive creature called a Jackalope that's a bunny with antlers. Title: The Night Before Christmas Post by: Forrest on November 28, 2003, 02:01:45 AM Subject: Fw: The Night Before Christmas
'TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS, HE LIVED ALL ALONE IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE MADE OF PLASTER AND STONE. I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE, AND TO SEE JUST WHO IN THIS HOME DID LIVE. I LOOKED ALL ABOUT; A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE: NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS, NOT EVEN A TREE. NO STOCKING BY MANTLE, JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND. ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES OF FAR DISTANT LANDS... WITH MEDALS AND BADGES, AWARDS OF ALL KINDS... A SOBER THOUGHT CAME THROUGH MY MIND. FOR THIS HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT. IT WAS DARK AND DREARY. I FOUND A HOME OF A SOLDIER, ONCE I COULD SEE CLEARLY. THE SOLDIER LAY SLEEPING-- SILENT, ALONE-- CURLED UP ON THE FLOOR IN THIS ONE BEDROOM HOME. THE FACE WAS SO GENTLE, THE ROOM IN DISORDER; NOT HOW I PICTURED A UNITED STATES SOLDIER. WAS THIS THE HERO OF WHO I'D JUST READ? CURLED UP ON A PONCHO; THE FLOOR FOR A BED? I REALIZED THE FAMILIES THAT I SAW THIS NIGHT OWED THEIR LIVES TO THIS SOLDIER WHO WAS WILLING TO FIGHT. SOON 'ROUND THE WORLD THE CHILDREN WOULD PLAY, AND GROWNUPS WOULD CELEBRATE A BRIGHT CHRISTMAS DAY. THEY ALL ENJOY FREEDOM EACH MONTH OF THE YEAR BECAUSE OF THE SOLDIERS LIKE THE ONE LYING HERE. I COULDN'T HELP WONDER HOW MANY LAY ALONE ON A COLD CHRISTMAS EVE, IN A LAND FAR FROM HOME. THE VERY THOUGHT BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE. I DROPPED TO MY KNEES AND STARTED TO CRY. THE SOLDIER AWAKENED AND I HEARD A ROUGH VOICE, "SANTA, DON'T CRY. THIS LIFE IS MY CHOICE." "I FIGHT FOR FREEDOM. I DON'T ASK FOR MORE. MY LIFE IS MY GOD, MY COUNTRY, MY CORPS." THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER AND DRIFTED TO SLEEP. I COULDN'T CONTROL IT; I CONTINUED TO WEEP. I KEPT WATCH FOR HOURS, SO SILENT AND STILL; AND WE BOTH SHIVERED FROM THE COLD NIGHT'S CHILL. I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE ON THAT COLD, DARK NIGHT-- THIS GUARDIAN OF HONOR, SO WILLING TO FIGHT. THEN THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER AND WITH A VOICE, SOFT AND PURE, WHISPERED, "CARRY ON, SANTA. IT'S CHRISTMAS DAY, ALL'S SECURE." ONE LOOK AT MY WATCH AND I KNEW HE WAS RIGHT. "MERRY CHRISTMAS, MY FRIEND, AND TO ALL, A GOOD NIGHT." This poem was written by a Marine stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He makes the following request: "Would you send this to as many people as you can? Christmas is coming soon and some credit is due to our U.S. service men and women for our being able to celebrate this and other holidays. Let's stop and think of our true heroes who have sacrificed their lives or parts of their lives so that we may enjoy our many freedoms." Title: What do you want for Christmas? Post by: Brother Love on November 28, 2003, 04:22:21 AM I would love a backstage pass to a Benny Hinn Show ;D If you get two passes, take me :) Brother Love :) Title: The Night Before Christmas Post by: Brother Love on November 28, 2003, 04:23:48 AM Subject: Fw: The Night Before Christmas 'TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS, HE LIVED ALL ALONE IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE MADE OF PLASTER AND STONE. Title: Re:What do you want for Christmas? Post by: HopeAndFaith on December 05, 2003, 12:50:02 PM Quote Well, In REAL LIFE I want to lose weight I'll take that one, too! ;DKidding aside, my hope and prayer for Christmas is that we have a peaceful time with my Father-in-law and girlfriend, with whom we have had many disagreements. That my husband and i can be compassionate towards them, loving, and understanding. He has brain and lung cancer, and is not looking too good. but most of all, i pray that even tho he believes in Jesus and God, that he would come to the full knowledge of Christ's love for him, and that he will become saved. Thank you Jesus for your mercy and love. Amen Title: Re:What do you want for Christmas? Post by: nChrist on December 05, 2003, 02:06:33 PM Oklahoma Howdy to HopeAndFaith,
I will be praying for you and your family. I think it would be nice if you would also post this information in our prayer request area. Many sweet Christians here will pray for your family.
