The following is a section of a conversation between me and a few friend today before Philosophy class today:

TJ: Yo, G, are we going to have that test today?

Chris: Nah, Bra, that is Monday, I think. Dude, this class it like impossible!

Lindsay: Biology is impossible, Yo!

Chris: Fo real!

Ashley: I just like don’t know what he is talking about in that class! It is like... he is like... *nods vergously, as is her trademark* yeah.

Matt: Yo, who you got for Bio?

Lindsay: Ford

Matt: Aww [explicit] just drop it, dawg!

TJ: No Joke, that foo is a [explicit]

Chris: serously, bra.

Note: The dialog was in no way edited, this is how it went, to the last "bra." All of us are Caucasian, and children of members of the Upper middle to upper class, and all of us attending a college in the top 3 best Academic schools in one of the largest states in the USA. Scared yet? You should be, these are the people who will run the country while you are in an nursing home. ;D

I would hope the language skills you gave examples of are isolated and only representative of a small percentage of youth. Language skills like that might get them a job cleaning up a feed lot after the cattle have been taken to market.

I'm optimistic there are plenty of sharp young people to run our society and prevent the old retired folks from rioting.   ;D

Good idea, Tibby...another good one: Have a germ that changes a little each year, so that people can catch it over and over...we could make millions off cough syrup and sinus tablets...

Oh wait. That already exists. And its probably patented. Nevermind.

       I would say the troble is each and every one of the youth that knows how to speek propper and you don't.

The ones that don't speak like that are counter-culture, so its a lose/lose situation ;D

I see no problem with it.  Each generation has developed their own language.  It's part of who we are.  We enter that stage where we want to differentiate ourselves and show our independence.  This is just part of that.  How our youth interact with each other and the language they use in no way takes away from their intellect.  I know many youth that talk that way among themselves, yet interact vocally with adults in their language also when they have to.  You can almost think of it as being bilingual.  If you was to ask the parents of kids in the 60's what they thought, it'd be similar to what those kids are now saying about their kids.  Each generation thinks the next is worse.  You can think of this as a sign as one is getting older.  The music is getting louder, harder, and the youth's language skills are going downhill.  These kids are very smart and are growing up faster than we had to.  Do not underestimate them.
