by Ezra HaLevi (IsraelNN.com) A Kassam rocket slammed into a schoolyard Wednesday morning – thirty minutes before it would have been filled with children. The high school, in a community near Sderot, has not been reinforced, and the building’s music room was damaged by the explosion. One woman was treated for shock. A second rocket landed in a field near Kibbutz Nir Am, adjacent to Sderot. Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack. A Bedouin man was lightly wounded by shrapnel from a Kassam impact in a Shaar HaNegev factory Tuesday. Judea and Samaria Counter-Terror IDF forces arrested eight wanted terrorists in Judea and Samaria overnight. Five Fatah terrorists were arrested in the Ramallah region, as well as an Islamic Jihad terrorist in Jenin and two others in Hevron. Soldiers were targeted by gunfire in Jenin, but no injuries were reported. Olmert Seeks International Troops in Gaza Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Tuesday that he would like to see international troops stationed along the Philadelphi Corridor between Gaza and Sinai. Olmert said such a force would help prevent the continued smuggling of weapons to Gaza’s terrorist groups. European Union officials are currently posted at the border, though have failed to stop the massive smuggling of explosives and weapons into Gaza since Israel left the region as part of the 2005 Disengagement Plan. The proposal to bring in international troops has been promoted by the extreme-left Meretz Party in recent months and was recently adopted by Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni. Olmert is expected to propose the idea to US President George W. Bush, whom he is scheduled to meet with next Tuesday.
