Tehran, June 10, IRNA

Iran-Nicaragua-Document
Iran and Nicaragua will sign documents on economic and political cooperation during the current visit to Tehran of the Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega, a Foreign Ministry official said on Sunday.

Foreign Ministry Director General for America, Ahmad Sobhani, told IRNA that Tehran has voiced readiness to help Managua in the fields of agriculture, fresh water supply and electricity generation.

The Nicaraguan president arrived here Sunday morning at the head of a high-ranking delegation for a tow-day official visit.

He was officially welcomed at Tehran Mehrabad International Airport by his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Ortega is visiting Tehran upon an official invitation of President Ahmadinejad.

According to Sobhani, the two sides will discuss Tehran-Managua diplomatic ties and cooperation including opening of the Iranian and Nicaraguan embassies in the two capitals and training Nicaragua's young diplomats by Iran.

It will be interesting to see how many of our neighbors to the south will join this anti-U.S. coalition.  Of course, we know Venezuela is onboard.
