Title: 'Rolling Thunder' Bikers Roll Into Washington for Annual Rally Post by: Soldier4Christ on May 27, 2007, 03:34:24 PM 'Rolling Thunder' Bikers Roll Into Washington for Annual Rally
Motorcycle riders from across the United States have come to the nation's capital for an annual rally on Memorial Day weekend. Participants in the "Rolling Thunder" event Sunday draw attention to the health concerns of military veterans and to the issue of military personnel missing in action. The bikers, many of them veterans of the Vietnam war, gathered at the Pentagon this morning to ride to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington. President Bush greeted the leadership of Rolling Thunder at the White House Sunday. On Monday, Memorial Day, the president takes part in a wreath laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. The holiday pays tribute to fallen American service members. The Memorial Day weekend also is seen as the unofficial start of summer in the United States, with people often celebrating with picnics and other outdoor activities. Unfortunately, one of the members was killed on the highway returning home. I pray the Lord will comfort his family. See details below.
