Title: Providence Forum seeks to preserve true history of nation Post by: Soldier4Christ on May 14, 2007, 09:46:11 AM Providence Forum seeks to preserve true history of nation
An organization known as the Providence Forum is trying to educate Christians about not only the foundations of America but also the importance of restoring truth to the culture. Founded seven years ago, the organization today offers a variety of publications, literature and other resources that detail the spiritual underpinnings of the United States. Ralf Augstroze, executive director of the Providence Forum, says the last U.S. presidential election was proof that many Christians do not take seriously the biblical admonition to be salt and light. "The Christian community has been termed the 'sleeping giant' in the sense that, I believe [in] the last elections, 60 percent of professing Christians were not even registered to vote," he notes. "Our point is to emphasize upon the Christian world that it is a Christian's sacred duty and responsibility to register to vote, to vote their conscience, to vote their Christian belief when they walk into the polling place," Augstroze asserts. He says Christians must select candidates who not only talk about Christian beliefs but live them out on a daily basis. Last week, Queen Elizabeth II visited the United States, and part of her visit included a stop at the spot where English settlers landed 400 years ago at Jamestown, Virginia. Augstroze says a celebration marking the quadricentennial of the founding of Jamestown will counter revisionist history by emphasizing the main reason the settlers came to what would become America -- that is, the quest for religious freedom. "Of course, the reason why the Jamestown Settlement was established and why those folks came over was to flee the religious persecution in England," the Providence Forum spokesman points out. "And that's really the story of subsequent travelers to the colonies here," he contends. "They were fleeing religious persecution; they wanted to worship God and advance the kingdom of Jesus Christ, and they've written that into their documents. And that's really what the first settlement of Jamestown was all about." The Providence Forum is a non-profit organization that provides resources related to America's spiritual heritage. Title: Re: Providence Forum seeks to preserve true history of nation Post by: nChrist on May 14, 2007, 11:42:17 AM This is why the ACLU and groups like them hate real history. They hate it so much that most of the textbooks used in our public schools have been changed to remove all references to religious freedom and religious principles this country was founded on. In FACT, the founders intentionally founded a Christian nation for a Christian people. They just didn't specify the denomination of Christian and they wrote it into law that the Federal Government could never specify the denomination of Christian. What's so interesting here is there was never any intention to prevent individual states from specifying Christian denominations. I can't remember when or how this was addressed, but individual states did have churches that were supported by the State. The prohibitions were on the Federal Government.
There were also laws in many places that required all public servants to be Christians before they could hold public office. This included school teachers, police officers, elected officials, etc. The ACLU and groups like them can't stand tons of documents that support the real history that this was a Christian Nation and the Founders Intentions were to keep it as a Christian Nation. Any arguments to the contrary would be like a single grain of sand on a beach. The Library of Congress contains enough hard evidence and documentation to make this a given fact in any court in the land. In fact, there has been judicial notice many times that this is a Christian Nation. Going even further, there is notice by all branches of government still carved and etched onto ALL of the public buildings that have survived. For those that didn't survive, there are photographs and building plans that still contain the hard evidence that ALL of our public buildings Honored GOD. ALL of our State Constitutions also Honor GOD and STILL DO! They can't erase or remove HISTORY, regardless of how hard they try. Believe me - they are trying to do away with and forget HISTORY! It can't be done! They can't do away with the BIBLE either. It's been tried many times and many ways over thousands of years, and the HOLY BIBLE is impossible to destroy. GOD'S WORD will be preserved FOREVER! GOD HIMSELF Promised that, and it will be done! Love In Christ, Tom Psalms 31:19 NASB How great is Your goodness, Which You have stored up for those who fear You, Which You have wrought for those who take refuge in You, Before the sons of men! God has provided us with this nation and it's many freedoms to worship Him. A safe haven in a world full of evil. So many of the founding fathers fought and died for these freedoms and so many are just throwing it away by their total inaction.
