Title: Law suit caps Post by: Tibby on October 21, 2003, 03:22:50 PM What do you guys think? Should there is a law putting a cap on the money people get in pain and suffering law suits against mal-practice?

I voted YES! Lawyers are getting rich on the backs of every person who needs health care in America. I would go further than simply placing a cap on settlement amounts. Frivolous suits should result in the lawyer and plaintiff paying for all court and attorney fees, plus fees and penalties. Our entire tort system is a mess. Lawyers are the only ones who win. We all pay the price in many ways, and our services we receive involve more money, less service, and sometimes elimination of services because of rich lawyers getting richer. I wished I wasn't so shy on this topic. ;D In Christ, Tom Title: Re:Law suit caps Post by: Reba on October 21, 2003, 11:07:16 PM look out peas,

This could put lawyers in the poor house and then there would be no one to be our candidates for public office from the lowest to the highest, (president).
We might have to go back to picking candidates from the general public. That would be a catatrophe because then our public officials might have a clue as to the needs of and how the real America thinks and feels. Keep saying that, until you get a Native Californian in the Oval Office. Um, a College Graduate, or a High school drop-out Yoga instructor for the legalization of all drugs? ;D Title: Re:Law suit caps Post by: ollie on October 24, 2003, 03:29:56 PM We might have to go back to picking candidates from the general public. They have all gone to Oregon.Quote Um, a College Graduate, Ok as long as the major is anything but social studies or philosophy.Quote or a High school drop-out Yoga instructor for the legalization of all drugs? ;D Now that would be a twisted high form of rule.8) Quote |
