Israel's US envoy says concerned about Syrian arms

Israeli ambassador to US says Syria is purchasing arms at levels not seen since 1973 Middle East war, adding Damascus is becoming a serious threat
Reuters

Israel is growing more concerned about unprecedented military purchases and stepped-up training by Syria, at levels not seen since the 1973 Middle East war, its envoy to the United States said on Wednesday.

"Syria is developing into a very serious threat," Israeli Ambassador Sallai Meridor told a luncheon sponsored by the Israel Project, a group that promotes the country's agenda. "We hope it's not offensive but we're not sure."

A significant build-up of missile capability by Syria could "create major damage to Israel" and Russia was supplying the arms to Damascus, he said, without providing specific details of the source for that information.

Meridor said Israel had tried to make it clear that it had no "offensive intentions" toward Syria, but added the Israeli government was working to make sure it was not surprised or unprepared if attacked.

Israel captured the Golan Heights from Syria in the 1967 war and annexed the territory in 1981. The two sides have so far failed to negotiate a resolution over the strategic plateau.

Syria has expressed interest in resuming talks but also has hinted at military action if it found diplomacy at a dead end. Israel has demanded Syria first stop sponsoring Hizbullah and Palestinian terror groups.

The United States, Israel's close ally, has accused Syria of sponsoring terrorism, aiding Hamas militants as well as supplying Hizbullah, a guerrilla group that has tried to bring down the Lebanese government of Prime Minister Fouad Siniora.

Meridor largely declined to comment on the political turmoil at home, but he did encourage Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to remain in office despite calls for his resignation amid criticism for his handling of the war with Lebanon last year.

Hello Dreamweaver,

Brother, first please let me thank you for finding and posting this kind of news. I sincerely appreciate it, and it is more than just fascinating in the study of Bible Prophecy.

YES - the places and things written in the Bible thousands of years ago appear to be coming together pretty quickly. I say "coming together" because the signs are together in the Bible. Places and events might be dismissed if other required ingredients weren't already on the stove and cooking.

Brother, it looks like a full course meal is on the stove and cooking. The ingredients for the prescribed meal are here. NOW, it's simply a matter of when the ingredients are properly cooked and when they will be served. No man knows the day or the hour, but the stove is on and cooking.

Brother Bob, I know that Christians don't fear Bible Prophecy for themselves, rather for those hosts who have rejected JESUS CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOUR. I pray that this burden is heavy for all Christians. The time probably is getting short. The time will be ultimate JOY for Christians but everlasting doom for the lost.

I want to mention something I noticed this week. I was doing some research about Computer Bible resources available for the Linux operating system. In particular, I was researching Ubuntu Christian. I easily found what I was looking for, but I also found tons of mockery about Ubuntu Christian. I'm talking about an unknown number of search pages filled with obscenity, profanity, and mockery that anyone would dare try to make a Christian operating system for a computer. SO, what type of message should this send to most Christians? It told me that much of the world is openly mocking ALMIGHTY GOD and any effort made to worship or honor GOD. This is also one of the ingredients of the prescribed full course meal in Bible Prophecy. This specific ingredient is being revealed around the world in greater intensity by the minute.

The players for the end of this age appear to be in preparation for the roles that GOD has already told us in the Bible that they will play. There won't be any coincidence that the events foretold by the Old Testament Prophets will be fulfilled perfectly at GOD'S Appointed time. JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF gave us more information about these events in the New Testament. Paul gave us detailed information about the CHURCH WHICH IS THE BODY OF CHRIST. It is quite possible and reasonable to believe that the end days of this age might be drawing near. It's sad that information like this will give mockers more reasons to laugh and make fun of GOD. Any mockery of ALMIGHTY GOD will stop one day soon, and it will be too late for great hosts of the lost.

I'll simply say GOD'S Will be done, and it will be done!

Love In Christ,
Tom

Revelation 21:23 NASB  And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb.

Glaringly!

Not only is it cooking, it has boiled, and is now simmering....awaiting the return of our Savior.
