Title: Sheryl Crow wants bathroom police to save planet Post by: Soldier4Christ on April 23, 2007, 12:18:10 PM Sheryl Crow wants bathroom police to save planet
Singer calls for limit of 1 sheet of toilet paper per visit Singer Sheryl Crow, fresh from a confrontation with Karl Rove at the White House Press Correspondents Dinner, has some unique ideas about saving the planet from "global warming." In a blog chronicling her thoughts during a college tour with Laurie David, producer of Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth," she suggests "a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting." "Now, I don't want to rob any law-abiding American of his or her God-given rights, but I think we are an industrious enough people that we can make it work with only one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where 2 to 3 could be required," she writes. She is also touting a new invention, admittedly in the early stages of development, to help reduce the use of paper napkins, "which happen to be made from virgin wood and represent the height of wastefulness." "I have designed a clothing line that has what's called a 'dining sleeve,'" she writes. "The sleeve is detachable and can be replaced with another 'dining sleeve,' after usage. The design will offer the 'diner' the convenience of wiping his mouth on his sleeve rather than throwing out yet another barely used paper product. I think this idea could also translate quite well to those suffering with an annoying head cold." Crow and David rode a biodiesel bus on a 12-campus tour to raise awareness about "global warming" by engaging students on the topic. It started earlier this month at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, and was timed to end yesterday – Earth Day. The two women planned to meet today with House Energy Chairman John Dingell, D-Mich., and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev. Crow and David made news Saturday night by engaging in an argument with White House political director Rove. They urged him to take "a fresh look" at "global warming." "I honestly thought that I was going to change his mind, like, right there and then," David told the Associated Press. Both celebrities were guests of news organizations – Crow invited by Bloomberg News and David by CNN. At one point, according to the celebrities, Crow touched Rove's arm and "Karl swung around and spat, 'Don't touch me.' " "You can't speak to us like that, you work for us," Crow claims to have responded. "I don't work for you, I work for the American people,' said Rove. "We are the American people," said Crow." "“She came over to insult me," Rove said Saturday night, "and she succeeded." This is the mindset of most of the environmentalists. I think this one is right in line with the use of flourescent light bulbs. I think this one is right in line with the use of flourescent light bulbs. I believe in helping the environment, but this is ridiculous! One sheet?! Title: Re: Sheryl Crow wants bathroom police to save planet Post by: Soldier4Christ on April 24, 2007, 06:56:06 PM Well the Global Warming dingbats are at it again.... Now I have to ration my tp?? What next?? Sorry, I can't part with my tp. It's important stuff!! Some things are just impossible to do. ;D Someone should follow around Sheryl Crow for a month and moniter her tp usage. One sheet is just not reasonable. I wonder what sheryl Crow would think if someone proposed using leaves instead?? No offense and I'm not trying to sound rude, but I think some people have way too much time on their hands and are looking for something to complain about. I wonder what uses more energy, using several sheets of TP.... or all of the electricity used in her stage show, night after night, and all of the fuel used to haul her, her crew, her stage, lights, and amps all across the country, not to mention all of the gas used by people to drive to her shows. P.S. If you ever meet Sheryl Crow I wouldn't recommend shaking her hand. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I think they need to find a way to harness the energy uses when she talks.
