Title: Question
Post by: 2nd Timothy on April 10, 2007, 03:14:01 PM
Is there any way to embed a christian video in a post say from youtube.com, Rather than actually posting a link that forces the user to the linked site?

Thanks

I understand the situation. YouTube is a nasty place and we don't allow links to it because of that. The only way that I know of to get around that is to place the video on a personal website or to use a different video website. There are some Christian based sites that are starting up that has no advertisements or garbage allowed on them. If you do an internet search on Christian youtube you can get a listing of a number of these sites.

PR I think I have a good workaround.  I was able to create a webpage and embed a place holder on MY page to stream videos....so its safe surfing.  Have a look and confirm for me that everything is cool.

Unfortunately the way it is set up there is a direct link on the video's to YouTube, which still creates a problem posting the link to it here.

OK, I do believe I can block click thru's to you tube.....I'll kill my link until I get that done.

Oh well...can't be done, at least not that I can find.  There's no way to unlink the hotlink on the video to youtube.  I even tried making a transparent gif image to cover the video window, thinking that would block any clicks, but once the video is called it comes to the foreground allowing the passthru click.  >:(

Never mind!  :D

Alright PR, I have created a new source that has nothing to do with YT.  They are directly sourced from my site now.

Alright! I will be looking into some other methods also as there are others that have been wanting to post videos like that here.

Photobucket seems to be the easiest way, but they only allow videos of 5 mins in length or shorter unless you pay for the upgrade.

The YT streams can be saved and converted then posted on PhotoBucket, but its alot of work...and requires a bit hackery.....lol  Nothing illeagal mind you, just a lot of file manipulation.

Yeah it really is a pain, but I know both of those videos will bless many, so it was worth the fuss for me.

Blessings!
