Title: Eight Gifts That Cost Nothing
Post by: TigerLily on March 01, 2007, 02:58:30 PM
THE GIFT OF LISTENING
But you must really listen.  No interrupting, no daydreaming, no planning your responses, no second-guessing.  JUST LISTEN
THE GIFT OF AFFECTION
Be generous with appropriate hugs, kisses, and pats on the back.  Let these small actions demonstrate the love you have for your family and close friends.
THE GIFT OF LAUGHTER
Clip and share cartoons, jokes and funny stories.  Your gift will say "I love to laugh with you."
THE GIFT OF A WRITTEN NOTE
It can be a simple "Thanks for the help" note or a full sonnet.  A brief, handwritten note may be remembered for a lifetime, and may even change a life.
THE GIFT OF A COMPLIMENT
A simple and sincere, "You look great in red," "You did a super job," or "that was wonderful," can make someone's day.
THE GIFT OF A FAVOR
Every day, go out of your way to do something kind for someone.  Practicing random acts of kindness will lift your own spirit.
THE GIFT OF SOLITUDE
There are times when you want nothing more than to be left alone.  Be sensitive to that same need in others and give the gift of solitude when it seems needed.

THE GIFT OF A CHEERFUL DISPOSITION
The easiest way to feel good yourself is to offer a kind word to someone else.  Really, just a cheery "Hello," or "How are you?" can go a long way.

Amen. There are so many that act like it is too much effort to do these little things that makes life so much easier for themselves as well as others. I was just thinking that perhaps I myself should try a little harder in this area.

Amen TL, those are great gifts some people think it is so hard to give these gifts, so they replace them with something material or tangible ... they are very mistaken.

A hug, a warm smile, a compliment, telling someone that you appreciate them, those are gifts that can never waste away. They sort of get stored in the heart  :) :) :)

Amen Tigerlily,

It's great to see you back on the forum. Indeed, many of the best things in life are free.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Ephesians 4:4-6 NASB  There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.
