I'm a new member from New York. I'm very happy to have found this site. Living in Godless NYC and working in a Godless industry (journalism), I'm happy to have found a home online. I want to spread the word about a terrific conservative pro-God show that I discovered a couple of months ago which I think you'll enjoy. (I also posted a link under television). This is The America Show and I think we should send it to as many people as possible. I hear they're shopping it around as a potential TV show. Welcome to Christians Unite. I have seen the trailer on this before. Personally I would not advocate this show as it depicts supposed Christians using a Ouija board and talking to a dead relative. Psychics are held up as being valid source of God's existence and much more that is all against the teachings of the Bible. I strongly recommend against this show. Their message is the right one. I believe one can strongly adhere to what the bible teaches but still see humor
for what it is, especially when it doesn't aim to offend. Most other TV programs DO aim to offend us! If the Bible says stay away from it than that's what should be done. You give the devil a ride and he wants to drive. The best thing is to STAY AWAY, in fact run away from such deceptions. Even if you watch something like this, which is in no way offensive or in no way pokes fun, just goes for a laugh, you will be "dancing with the devil"? Here's a thought...watch it...laugh...and get on with your life! If something such as a comedic video lures you to the devil, you have severe problems not even the Sweet Lord can help you with!

Yes it has some underlying core good values, however as far as being a Christian show or teaching Christian values it falls flat. I do have self control, I do not participate in things that do not give God the glory and honor, that in itself is self control. The world can be very alluring and yet offer you nothing but a ticket to eternal damnation. I have enough faith in Him and His eternal love so that I am comfortable enough with myself to not be tempted by the 'dancing devil'. I can read 'Harry Potter' and know that it is JUST a story, and know I will not be damned into the 9th circle of hell. Reading a children's story book that suggests witchcraft isn't going to lure me into the dark side, reading 'The DaVinci Code' isn't going to make me love God and Our Lord Jesus Christ the Savior any less just because it presents new ideas...I think God loves everyone who loves him and serves him...and while I give my love and faith to him every day, I am also able to enjoy the things actual LIFE has to offer without feeling tempted by devils. For me to be able to go over to the DARK DEPTHS OF *gasp* COMEDY and READING FOR ENTERTAINMENT and then go right back to serving God without having my views or perceptions changed in anyway is how it should be. I believe God wants everyone to be happy and enjoy life and find pleasure in each and every day and I don't think he'd mind if you laughed a wee bit at his expense.

Walking with God and staying close to Him is my main objective, the Bible warns us time and time again, be not deceived. The Bible tells us to stay clear of things. I am not saying that we should sit in the closet and never do anything. Romans 14 lets us know that we should not judge our brothers and sisters faith or walk with God based on what they do that may be different than us. Rom 14:1-3 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. We see that if a brother or sister is younger in the faith that we should not judge them. They were good enough for God to receive then so should we. If a young girl comes into your church with rainbow hair, nose rings, leather, and a belly that shows she is in her 9th month, with no ring on her finger. We are not to judge her. If she is good enough for God then we should lover her as God loves her. Do not worry what is on the outside, let God come inside and He will change what is on the outside :) But all that to say a couple of things and so far they seem way off topic :D We as Christians should stay clear of that which is purely of Satan. There is nothing about the Ouija board which is Godly. The "spirits" that are walking around this work "talking" with people are no angels, and not God, they are not even people in heaven? They are nothing more than the agents of Satan working. And no Christian should be "communicating" with the agents of Satan. And it is not a good testimony of that Christian to be "communicating" with Satan. What we do in our daily lives is a reflection of our testimony to God as well as the unsaved around us. What looks better not only to God but Jimmy the unsaved if you profess to be a Christian and give the appearance of a great walk, but then Jimmy as well as God sees you walking into the neighborhood porn shop? There are things that the Bible explains are "little" things, what we eat for example. And we should not sweat the small stuff. But the Bible is clear on things that are dangerous not only to our personal walk, but to our testimony. And as far as this show is concerned. This one episode about talking about God. Nothing was presented in a Christian fashion. One of the girls if I recall mentions she was a Jew. Not a good show for Christians or to represent Christian values. |
