Be Intolerant: Because Some Things Are Just Stupid
by: Ryan Dobson

Quote
Ryan Dobson leads the way out of the darkness of political correctness. Using timely examples, Dobson exposes just how illogical moral relativism is and leads the way for you to reach those around you with the love of Christ.

Sounds fascinating. The title caught my eye and gave me a chuckle! Has anyone read this? If so, is it any good?

Nope, haven't seen it.

But just the title conjures up some really interesting questions.

Christians have to be very intolerant of most things that are worldly and sin directed.

No, Havn't read it.

*sigh* Still no one has read this? I guess I may have to break down and read it for myself!  ;D

Maybe we can get a book report from you on it, sincereheart.

That sounds like an intersting book.  It reminds me of a quote I came across recently in a book titled Four Souls...

Tolerance is a strange word.  These days it is being lifted up in America like it is the highest of values.  The only sin in the postmodern world is intolerance.
Tolerance, though, really doesn't offer all that much.  It requires no love or concern for others, no compassion or benevolence.  You just have to be able to ignore.
Of course, if a society doesn't have any higher virtues, tolerance is the best you can hope for.  At least it allows people to coexist without killing one another just because they don't like the other person's appearance, beliefs, or habits.
But there's a time for intolerance, too.  When I think about what they do with little children here (talking of the child prostitution in Thailand) - and many other places, too - it makes me want to really lay into someone.  In circumstances like this, tolerance is not a value at all.  In fact, if you have the ability to stop something like that, but instead choose to "be tolerant" - that's straight-out evil.

I thought so, too. But our local library is small and doesn't carry a copy.  :-[

Interesting quote!

Well, I don't think you can decide whether to be tolerant or intolerant.

Jesus and God are the most tolerant of all.  If God wasn't tolerant, He would have killed us all off years ago, and wouldn't have tolerated us killing Him!!

Being tolerant, or intolerant, is a question of when, not whether.

So I don't see how you could write a whole book on it.

   :-\

Hey - didn't Hillary write a whole intolerant book?

Oh - wait a minute - maybe I got the order of the words confused...

Nope - said exactly what I meant...

Yikes.  That's right.

Hmm.  Maybe that speaks for itself.   :-X

I think the book is talking about accepting things (i.e. tolerating) instead of speaking the truth in Christian love. Of course, I'll probably never read it.... :-X

Doesn't it just annoy you to NO END when wise-tails come in and try to make a mockery of a perfectly legitimate thread?  >:(
 ;D

Judging a book by it's cover, it appears to be more political than Christian - which doesn't automatically condemn the book - just an observation.  I think I would actually enjoy looking it over.  Political correctness run amok is REALLY hurting our society.

Nah! But it does amuse me to no end to be discussing a book that none of us has read!  ;)

That's interesting.

Did you scan that, sincereheart?  (I'm just now learning some of dis stuff..)

No scanning - just posted it as an image.... :P

But the book does look interesting to me.... So I wonder if I'll actually ever read it?  ???

My husband and I were at a locally owned Christian bookstore, ready to buy the book! I looked for it and couldn't find it. So I even asked for help. They're out of it....

*sigh*  :-[
